Forty percent of the economy is discretionary spending and discretionary spending has all but came to a halt. What happens to those workers whose income derives from discretionary spending for their essential spending?

(37,449 posts)electric-cable/internet-telephone-eat a third+ of that. I am thankful I paid my last school tax bill at the beginning of the month.
I still have to paid all my auto insurance and home & fire insurance. Thats a big chunk. After April I am ok.

(14,764 posts)Under the gop Senate plan, any money you get would be an early rebate against your 2020 tax return, and would need to be paid back either out of your tax return or as a tax payment if you dont get a return.
Payments only go to corporations, investors, and wealth creators.

(14,764 posts)Workers are capital equipment and depreciate over time. As long as there is a fresh supply of raw materials (us), production can continue.
And in keeping with a disposable society, they see it as more cost effective to replace rather repair or improve.
