If you think today's briefing is missing, let me fill you in.

Very very. Incredible. Great. Best ever. Fantastic. Never before. Horrible like nobody's ever seen. Tremendous. Many many amazing. Strong.
We'll see what happens.
Very special. Like nobody ever.
That I can tell you.

===============================

There you have it. Our brief vocabulary lesson is over, and our country is still at risk, and the leader is absent in chief.

I have enjoyed the concise, honest, factual reports by Governor Andrew Cuomo every day that then morphed into discussion of personal responsibility, humane interaction, how to deal wirh fear and isolation, and coming together as people who are truly all in this together.
It's a little like going to church.
I very much appreciate the leadership he is extending in our time of need for it.

If I hear anyone else say, "No one could have foreseen this," again I'll scream.

I was glad to hear another reporter go after Trump for attacking NBC's Peter Alexander, who asked a softball question ("What do you want to tell people who are afraid?" "That you're a lousy reporter!" ). She asked Trump why he was being such an asshole (she phrased the question a little more carefully, but that was the subtext).

It grates whenever he refers to Dr. Fauci as "Tony" as a way of diminishing him. Ultimately Fauci gets his revenge by correcting Trump's lies in real time, in front of Fat Donnie.

Trump is finding that standing in front of a roomful of reporters is much different than having them shout questions over the noise of a chopper. For one thing, since they are not being shouted, the questions are longer and more detailed. Additionally, the pressers provide an opportunity for follow up questions. As discussed in many articles, Trump hates to be challenged, and when he feels he's backed into a corner he lashes out. One of these days the entire presser is going to be nothing but an hour-long rant by Trump against all his enemies, real or imaginary.

The last thing we need at a time like this is an amoral sociopath narcissist in power. Even Pence would be better, as much as that pains me to say.

If we're going to go with first names - lets all do it.

Fauci is an incredibly accomplished, well respected man. He doesn't have to put up with any of this shit- he's 79 and could easily justify staying safe at home right now.

Yes, at least Pence is calm and acts like an adult. He seems to respect the experts.

I wonder how much time he spends fantasizing about Trump's demise.

All that cacophony emanating from the White House is just a freak side show.

I'm urging everyone to watch his pressers and skip trump's. I've stuck to local and state briefings, the Johns Hopkins map, WHO videos, etc, since this started. Whoever thought trump could or would be helpful and stop caring for himself alone as opposed to the country is deluded. there is nothing to be gained by watching them and I do wish the media would serve their country and stop airing them as Rachel Maddow suggested.

youtube.

youtube is a fabulous resource for those of us without cable or even broadcast tv. they run them live when they happen. you can most likely watch your own state's pressers on youtube, as well as videos from WHO and the BBC, Canada's press conferences, etc. I've watched so many different entities provide their briefings. For instance, I'm from Los Angeles and have a son and grandchildren there, so I watch those.

YouTube is my best friend right now!

As I've said on other posts, the crisis would still suck, but I'd feel a hell of a lot more confident moving forward.

Because Trump's utter lack of leadership isn't cheering me up much.
