"Confirmed cases" vs actual cases

Please start using the word "Confirmed" when talking about covid-19 cases as there are many people who have it but have not had a test to confirm it. We expect confirmed number of cases to skyrocket as more get tested.

Covid-19 is spreading. But please use "Confirmed" as those are the only ones counted in reports.

For example :
50,000 period have it, no tests, none confirmed positive. 50,000 still have it.
50,000 people have it, 10 get tested, 10 positive. 50,000 still have it.
50,000 period have it, 1000 get tested, 1000 positive. 50,000 still have it.

It is widespread, continues to spread. But we knew the numbers confirmed would soar one testing started.

...confirmed & suspected awaiting results. That's better than just confirmed. Not judging how far from great, though. Just that it's better.

GOP and their Grotesque Orange Pustule have deliberately acted to prevent us from ever getting an accurate view of the impact of the virus on the U.S. The numbers for the early spread of the disease are forever lost.
