Trump gets polling boost, but will it last?

Two new surveys released Friday found majority support for Trump’s handling of the health crisis. One survey showed Trump’s job approval rating moving past the 50 percent mark, a rarity since he took office.

Together, the polls indicate that voters have been encouraged by the president’s new tone and aggressive posture in dealing with the health and economic crises facing the country after a widely-panned Oval Office address this month.....

A new ABC News-Ipsos survey found that 55 percent of Americans approve of the president’s management of the crisis, compared to 43 percent who disapprove. That’s a near mirror-image flip from the same poll last week, when 43 percent said they approved and 55 percent disapproved.

Voter attitudes broke largely along party lines, with 86 percent of Republicans approving and 30 percent of Democrats saying they approve. But Trump’s numbers among Democrats have doubled over last week....

The Harris Poll conducted a two-wave survey, one from March 14-15 and a second from March 17-18.

Those dual surveys found Trump’s overall job approval rising from 49 percent to 53 percent. The president’s approval on his handling of COVID-19 bumped up from 51 percent to 56 percent in that time.

For instance, 61 percent said the president can be trusted on the coronavirus. That figure is lower than it is for doctors and nurses (92 percent), medical journals (86 percent), local government (77 percent), local media (74 percent), friends and family (72 percent), or the national media (65 percent).

Fifty-eight percent said the government has not provided enough economic relief and 56 percent said the government has not been adequately prepared to deal with the spread of the virus.

And a survey by the American Research Group released Friday broke sharply with the other polls, finding Trump’s job approval rating at only 35 percent. Forty-one percent said they approve of Trump’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak, compared to 55 percent who said they disapprove.

rate him as successful after the shit-show he has been doing for the past week?
Honestly, do we REALLY have that many stupid, brain-dead people here? If they're that bad, how do they even know how to answer the phone when the survey calls?

Fox viewers get to see this and the fox hosts spin it in a way that makes it look like Trump is hard at work on it.

Fox is a direct menace to our society.

They see a few seconds of Don on the local news or the NIH direction and think they’re on top of it.

The devil is in the details of this polling.

Check cross-tabs, MOE's, whose polled, how many polled etc. The poll by Ipsos a few days ago was a fucked up poll, in that they ONLY polled 'certain' people, and a bit over 500 people with a MOE of +5 to boot to get a so-called positive poll for fat ass.

Also, there was one other poll which was deemed as positive for fat ass, and as with the Ipsos poll, about 600 people were polled for THAT poll which also had a MOE of +6, and of course they polled 'certain' folks.

I don't believe any of these polls when they're set up to get the positive results for fat ass that THEY want. Any poll which picks and chooses specific folks to poll (White Older retired people)? PLEASE .... I also don't believe these polls which ONLY use land line respondents (NO cell phone respondents).

I wished people on television would start delving into these so-called 'positive' polls for fat ass ...

I needed that.

Interestingly enough, I have never been polled once. Ever. I only have a cell phone and don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number or they don't leave a message.

Too bad that there is one born every thirty-seconds here, now. That increase in natural born suckers is a threat to our democracy.

The S.S. Gullibility is the name of the Dictator's yacht and it is still afloat, which is just freaking amazing to say the least.

Who needs censorship when so many people seem to be in a hypnotic trance and easily beguiled to the point of losing their democracy? I mean, rube/mark/sucker territory. How is that ever fixed????
