What if (God forbid) this virus is still in full swing by November?

I personally don't think it'll last past Summer, but what if it does? Let's say it's worst case scenario and Trump orders a national lockdown on non-essentials, but doesn't cancel the election because he likely can't.

If it's really bad, I bet a lot of people will stay home, and many places have no mail-ins. We usually only get about 40 or 50% of eligible voters voting anyway. This could bring it down to 20%.

Let's also say Biden is leading by 5 points in polling. Who does it help more if only 20% vote?

That is 18 months away in a best case scenario. Then when it is available, only the rich and well connected will get access to it. We are probably 24-32 months away from getting our shot.

That being the case, I will risk my life to vote.

2. This is highly likely, but at a very different level... and there is always the possibility

of mutation.

We may be getting corona vaccines every year in future...

3. All states have absentee voting. CV19 would certainly seem reason enough to qualify in states

requiring a reason.

Absentee Voting: All states will mail an absentee ballot to certain voters who request one. In two-thirds of the states, any qualified voter may vote absentee without offering an excuse, and in one-third of the states, an excuse is required. Some states offer a permanent absentee ballot list: once a voter asks to be added to the list, s/he will automatically receive an absentee ballot for all future elections. https://www.ncsl.org/research/elections-and-campaigns/absentee-and-early-voting.aspx

Still, I'd imagine that many seniors won't know how to do this, or won't bother. I hope we can educate everyone on how do it by the early Fall.

11. I would imagine

that governors would expand absentee voting by executive order. GOTV efforts would necessitate educating people on how to request and cast an absentee ballot.

It is on its second or third wave around the world like the 1918 virus.
