This imbecile said he doesn't think he could learn anything from any of the former Presidents.
Let that sink in

(3,404 posts)He is incapable of learning from a huge mistake from yesterday, expecting him to learn from history of other administrations is an impossible task.
In his pea brain, crediting anyone for an accomplishment over and above his own attempts is an admission of weakness, and we cant have John Wayne looking weak.

(10,252 posts)It's not that he doesn't care to feel empathy, or learn wisdom and prudence from others. I think it's more that he is incapable of it. Like a rabbit is incapable of flying, or a fish of living out of water. His mind stream is so habitually narcissistic. To admit a mistake feels like ego death to him, death to the fantasized way that he imagines his self to exist. He is completely ignorant of how things really exist and lives in a fantasized myth about himself. I feel sorry for him.
I cannot help but to feel sorry for people who suffer from that. It most likely was forced on them in infancy and early childhood.

(38,436 posts)1. Making a comment like that is very stupid..(if he believes that, he should not make it public)
2. Saying something like that proves he is stupid in another way. Experience in a difficult job, could help another person, who deals with a similar situation, do a better job. (it proves he doesn't want to even
listen to others, let alone follow what other may offer.
3. It means that he thinks he knows it all, which is an out and out lie. Before he became president, he had little or no experience in politics. It was TV and selling stuff. He thinks that compares to real leadership skills..Which it doesn't compare to. He knows very little about leadership skills. He thinks he knows, but doesn't.

(2,692 posts)More than 50%! That means that more than half of those polled can watch Trump lie and exaggerate at his "dailies" so badly that Dr. Fauci has to offer nuanced corrections to what Trump says -- and still think to themselves "What a great president this man is."
That being the case now, at the very beginning of Trump's public failure to deal with this pandemic, of his obvious inability to be the leader the country needs, most of us think . . .think what? Think at all? Americans are dying because this man did nothing until things got so bad his sycophantic handlers were forced to push him into action. Or, rather, to allow others to act. It was all a Chinese hoax, remember? It was all going to miraculously disappear in April, remember? And what about his claims that he -- he! -- had the situation fully under control?
And he's still at it, criticizing and insulting states for complaining about the Administration's total inability to do much of anything, about the Administration's total unwillingness to do anything. Remember Trump saying he'd rather let the passengers on the Princess cruise ship die at sea rather than let them come ashore and increase the counted numbers of cases? Does this not rankle your complacency just a little bit, you 50%+ who approve of his dismal inaction, of his rendering the country absolutely unable to confront the virus like a first world country should?
Or is it that more than 50% of us really and truly don't care how many Americans die or suffer needlessly because this man, this so-called president, stripped the government of the minds, of the expertise, and godammit the ability to take action to prevent or at least mitigate the spread of the virus, to provide health care givers with the tools they need to help patients and keep themselves safe?
OK, OK, I'm angry at Trump. But goddammit America, what the hell is wrong with you?
