Okay, once again Dr. Fauci's not there.

He turned up over the weekend, but he's not at today's (Monday's) White House coronavirus briefing.

Michael Steele, the former RNC chair, commented on that, on camera. This time it seems more troublesome because it comes in context with expanding speculation about increasingly serious differences between the happy talk and flat-out lies that trump's trying to sell us and what Fauci knows, sees, has experienced, and then SAYS, as the truth.

Fauci was gone for two days last week. Then he was back. But again today, he's M.I.A.

About his own action in bringing us to this day, he's not sincere . stop listening to the very folks who are responsible for this mess

You're right, Pillow talk. People like former RNC Chair Michael Steele helped build this.

Just like the stage backdrop blared during the McCain/Palin GOP convention (CONvention) - "You Built It." ALL these folks did.

Every talking head on camera these days who now identifies as "former Republican this-or-that" or former bush/cheney or reagan/bush official - they may have had their change of heart or rude awakening by now. But back then, they were, as Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick would say, "all in."

And Michael Steele is just one of MANY professional talkers I yell at, when they come on TV complaining and wringing their little hands and furrowing their little brows about how horrible this is and he is. Cuz THEY BUILT THIS. THEY made this happen. And some of them are sooooo sanctimonious now about the "religion" they just got. But for this bunch, it's a VERY recent conversion. And we don't even know if they'll keep believing that way once trump is gone and they think the coast is clear to go back to promoting TrickledownLand.

I'm watching today's White House coronavirus task force briefing and ABC's Jonathan Karl is asking a question. Jonathan Karl, as a young journalist-hopeful, came out of an outfit called The Collegiate Network. That was a "school" set up to groom tomorrow's major league reporters and anchors to be ready to cover the news through a CONservative lens and produce reports that lean to and emphasize and reflect favorably upon a conservative point of view. Looks like he's snapped out of that stupor a little - after he's been up in the majors for awhile and probably either started seeing REAL, GENUINE, CREDIBLE objectivity from peers and perhaps, periodic guidance from newsroom bosses. Because his work hasn't been so rightward-slanted for awhile. He's doing better at being less partisan.

And at that level, seriously - you have audio and video editors, content editors, and their supervisors, and the newsroom supervisor, and the news director or vice president, and MANY pairs of eyes and ears are on that material. If it's live, there's not much that can be done except run a correction. If there's a problem, you rerecord it or do a first-add to the original writethru. But when I was working, there was always some ultimate arbiter in the newsroom who wouldn't let it go out, on the air, OR on the wires (when I worked at the AP) unless it was perfect. And if you screw up or write or present it the wrong way, you definitely hear about it. Jonathan Karl seem to have had his advanced education from the real world, that may call upon him to do more than merely pushing a certain bias like he was taught to do earlier at the Collegiate Network.

And btw, Welcome to DU, Pillow talk!
