Sen. John Thune is returning to South Dakota after falling ill today, according to an announcement from his spokesman.
The decision comes as Congress debates a stimulus package worth $2 trillion that would assist businesses and unemployed workers amid the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Thune, 59, is South Dakota's senior senator and the second-ranking Republican in the Senate.
According to spokesman Ryan Wrasse, Thune woke up this morning not feeling well. He consulted with both a physician in Washington and a physician in Sioux Falls.

(25,473 posts)According to WHO, it's most commonly five days.
CPAC was a month ago.
"The incubation period means the time between catching the virus and beginning to have symptoms of the disease. Most estimates of the incubation period for COVID-19 range from 1-14 days, most commonly around five days. These estimates will be updated as more data become available."

If Thune has it, he probably got it from Paul or some other idiot who didn't care who they infected.

(54,426 posts)I was feeling ill one time in Sen. McCaskill's office, and they had the Senate physician look at me right away. They thought it might be a heart attack. I said no way, been there, done that, and this wasn't it. They called an ambulance and had me sent to the emergency room at GW anyway (it was just the flu, like I told them).
