Here are the states that have shut down nonessential businesses

At least 28 states have enacted policies to close nonessential businesses in an effort to slow the spread of novel coronavirus in the United States.

While guidance varies from state to state, recreational spaces like museums, movie theaters, gyms, day cares, music venues and malls, as well as personal care retailers like spas, nail and hair salons, tend to fall in the nonessential businesses category.

These states may end up being a reservoir for the states that are taking this matter seriously.

but it doesn't show on the map. Our shut down started over a week ago. I've been in since about the 5th.

...it's going wild here. We are the most densely populated state in the Union and it's unavoidable that we will have lots of opportunities for transmission compared to you folks in wonderful Big Sky country.

We're pretty wide open around here. You actually have to drive to a city to find a traffic jam or a crowd. Most of my friends and I discussed this situation a few weeks ago and we all agreed that self isolation was what we do anyway except for once in a while. So we'll skip a couple once in a whiles so none of us get sick, maybe... or at least not right away.

I think an official state-wide order was issued today, though. I thought we were already there since most businesses closed down while ago.

Stay at home is going county by county. Mecklenburg, Durham, Wake, Gaston and Carbarrus are all locked down.

SC has shut down gyms, bars, restaurants, salons. There can be no gatherings over 3 people. Charleston is the only county locked down. More of them should be.
