modern communication to talk to their big city counterparts for ideas. They simply don't have the resources of big cities, their vulnerability is higher, I wish them well. I get really frustrated with them politically, but they are my country-people and I share more in common with them than with anyone else in the world.

when they're going to need it, as a lot of rural communities are starting from very close to zero when it comes to places and people who provide healthcare. So many rural hospitals have shut down over the last couple of decades that there are millions of Americans who don't live within 100 miles of adequate heath care (i.e., more than just a clinic).

Just to get these communities up to what most of the rest of the country simply takes for granted will take a Herculean effort and by the time they are hit hard, the healthcare system and most of it's resources will be stretched too thin.

The best hope for smaller, more far flung locales is that they don't get hit until the crisis in the metropolitan areas has abated so that resources can be moved from one place to another where the need is greatest.

I was amazed to read that there are rural areas that do not have ambulance service, I suppose for the very reasons you have stated. 💔

And many are such poor areas, even if that effort could be made timely, they like don't have the resources.

Hust heartbreaking all the way around
