(14,494 posts)I shed a tear for his Mother, friends and Congressional staff.
I previously knew little of him but here's a brief tribute to his life:
Member of the Michigan House of Representatives from the 4th district
In office January 9, 2019 March 29, 2020
William Isaac Robinson (1975 or 1976 March 29, 2020) was an American lawyer and politician in Michigan. Robinson was a Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing Michigan's 4th district.
Education
In 1998, Robinson earned a degree from University of Michigan. Robinson earned a Juris Doctor degree from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in 2001.
Career
In 1999, Robinson became a law clerk for United Automobile Workers. In 2003, Robinson became a Political director of Michigan Teamsters Joint Council #43 until 2010. In 2012, Robinson started his own law firm.
On November 6, 2018, Robinson won the election and became a member of the Michigan House of Representatives for District 4, which includes parts of Detroit. He succeeded his mother, Rose Mary Robinson, who had held the seat since first being elected in 2013. While in the House of Representatives, Robinson served on the Tax Policy, Commerce and Tourism, and Regulatory Reform committees.
Robinson's mother, Rose Mary Robinson, represented the 4th district in the Michigan House of Representatives, from 2013 to 2019. After his mother was prohibited from seeking a 4th term due to term limits, Isaac was part of a crowded field in the Democratic primary to replace her. With the district being overwhelmingly Democratic, the fight for the Democratic nomination was viewed as the de facto general election. Isaac prevailed in the 14-person field, capturing 21 percent of the vote, besting runner-up Saad Almasmari by 6 points. He would defeat Republican nominee Howard Weathington in the general election 95 percent to 5 percent.
Personal life
Robinson lived in Lansing, Michigan. He was unmarried and had no children. He died on March 29, 2020, of a suspected COVID-19 infection after being taken to the hospital with breathing problems. Robinson had not been tested for COVID-19 prior to his death. He was 44.

(63,221 posts)Was he getting the care he needed? I hope his death wasn't because of neglect on the part of the federal government.
RIP Isaac Robinson and my condolences to your family.
