Alarming, though not sure it's been verified at this point

Anyone finding sources on this angle?

TRUMP TO STATES: "We're not a shipping clerk"

Yet the US Govt SHIPPED 17.8 tons of critical medical supplies OUT OF THE US a month AFTER THEY WERE WARNED to brace for our own pandemic

It's like knowing America was on the cusp of a famine yet gathering food & sending it all away

Things scroll by so fast, and there are only certains times when I can sit long enough to scan through all the stuff.

I've seen that story, but not those threads about it. The third link from the top has some good info in it; thanks for your part in that.

The repetition of this story may be due, in part, to pent-up frustration with the maladministration. People see the headline and anger takes over before the details are absorbed.

It's not possible to read through every last post to see if someone else started a thread. It's often not possible to even find a thread you posted in to see if you need to answer something.

Good for you if you try to see previous threads, but maybe the person you are talking to has something going on that means they must be a little less than thorough. Life is hard right now. Bad things are happening. We need to stick together and avoid crapping on innocent people. We need each other.

Even if you find it extremely annoying, cut us some slack. That's all I'm saying.

that my post was aimed (primarily) at people that are putting up the OP. Posters that pile on after the fact (down string) are certainly less culpable (while not escaping responsibility entirely). Much the same way as the person indiscriminately forwarding every piece of crap that hits his/her FB page or twitter account to all and sundry.

So, yes .. I do cut you some slack ....

I wish Obama would step forth and defend himself. I know Trump closed down the pandemic group and have seen one woman try to explain that, but a word from Obama would be something we could use to throw back at the Repukes.

Trump is bringing that up nearly every day and if it isn't true, Obama needs to say so.

It was a small shipment - not even one tractor-trailer load - of privately donated supplies from 3M, Amazon and others. The State Department merely expedited the export.

Here are the specifics, but nobody cares about the details:

terrible situation he inherited...no ammo, no medical supplies, no pandemic people, etc.

I realize he is egging Obama on, but I'm seriously going to end up throwing a shoe at the TV one of these days. Such a spoiled brat.

Went right by me like an off-ramp.

After reading the article they said it was 77 pallets weighing 22,000lbs which indicates to me that we're talking high volume sized boxes, take up some space on a pallet. Which would also indicate that it's gonna be more than one semi trailer load, even a 53' high volume unit. Floor of a 48' would box trailer takes 14 four-bys and if you go two high, that would still mean you would need 2 48' trailers and a short-bed of some kind. Two 53' units would probably do it if not all cartons were of the large variety and depending on how you tweak and turn pallets on the floor of a 53' unit... never been in one of those. But it's a fair amount if it takes two semi trailers to do the job. Just sayin.

The other things I gleaned from the article is that these were private sector donations. The main theme I got from that was that we are being subjected, by the IMpotus, to the "free market" for our survival. Since he refuses to nationalize the supply chain, we must bid on the open market. I saw a segment on RMS earlier where my governor was talking to other governors with Dr. Fauci and stupid. Bullock explained, in detail, why nationalization needs to take place because of the inability of our state to compete with others for supplies.

In response , stupid jumps in and tells Dr. Fauci that he hasn't heard anything about a shortage of tests or PPE or anything, he hasn't heard anything about that. So what he was telling Bullock was, "fuck you". He's going to punish us for keeping Sen. Tester and for Having a Democratic Governor.

We're already tapped and we have a whole bunch of outsiders holed up, sort of, in there trophy/vacation homes thinking they are isolating themselves, they population of my small county has more than doubled in the past few weeks and now we have three cases as of today.

Wonder how this is going to look in a month.

should not be posted in a regular DU forum. There is a forum for "creative speculation," which means conspiracy theories, rumors and other such nonsense.
No one in their right mind would think that there could be any scenario where trump would want to "maximize casualties" in the US.

I would alert on these threads, but there is no alert category for "pure bullshit."

Sorry, don't mean to be combative, but there are so much outright lies and distortion coming from the other side that it drives me nuts when I see our side doing it.

Everyone here should verify info before posting it. I have seen DU posts and comments reprinted on right-wing sites to show how delusional and naive progressives are.
