"Trump didn't act on corona until March because impeachment ended in January."

https://www.rawstory.com/2020/03/ex-house-counsel-demolishes-gop-lie-that-trump-was-distracted-from-covid-response-by-impeachment/

That's their new talking-point.

Trump totally took corona seriously from the beginning in January and he didn't do anything about it until March because the impeachment that ended in January prevented him from doing so.

Also, Trump ridiculing the corona-outbreak in February, that never happened.

Well, he blocked a lot of people from testifying, and he withheld every document subpoenaed by the House. Neither one of those actions would require any significant amount of time or energy. When the action shifted to the Senate, McConnell did all the heavy lifting and the White House didn't have to do squat-ah to get the acquittal vote.

Can't say I quite see what Trump's supporters are getting at with this excuse for Trump sitting idly by while the country was laid wide open for this pandemic.

Turns out those people that hadn't been used in years that he didn't want sitting around doing nothing were just reorganized under different titles and were still there. So, they must have been doing something in the time that passed. Who are they and what was it they did? Unless they just sat around doing nothing.

The only thing that consumed any of Trump's time during the impeachment was him tweeting about it on the john. After that, he got busy with the all-important loyalty purges up to when this started getting more evident as a problem. Oh, and apparently sending China 17 tons of medical supplies in between that all.

"Trump didn't do anything about the pandemic because the Democrats were impeaching him" garbage is:

"So you admit that he didn't do anything."
