Punishing people to death

Trump likes that. Punishing people to death. It helps his cruelty stand out, which makes the Mad Hatters howl with pleasure. It’s like dessert for the Flush-Washington-Down-The-Toilet crowd.

Trump’s message - Beg me for it so I can say “maybe”, or even better....”No!” No to ventilators. No to masks. And when folks in the medical field start getting more credit than Trump, he can just say they’re probably stealing supplies and lying about shortages. Trump’s deal- take any potential rival hero down a few notches then put on some elevator shoes. It works.

Trump reminds me of a turkey buzzard. He takes a quick overview of his kingdom, searches for an easy hit, then lands back up on his high perch....stomach full, properly noticed, talk of the hillside. Odd thing though. Trump can wear a three-foot red power tie every day, but he’s still a buzzard.

Think of the dead, black soul required to go on national television every day and spew one lie after another. During a pandemic. When hundreds have died. When doctors and nurses are begging for relief. When governors are begging for equipment. Trump simply says just stop making a mountain out of a molehill and go buy an Easter bonnet.

I’m in my mid-seventies and it took me this long to finally understand how Hitler rose to power. How actual human beings could willingly accept derangement and collectively turn their backs to suffering. Now that I’ve seen Trump and his herd of backdrop bobble heads, I understand.

I no longer think this is a simple power trip for Donald Trump. I think he’s motivated by cruelty and depraved indifference. He likes it. Likes to display it. Likes people to look at it and talk about it. His lies just fluff it up so it looks more normal, even though he knows it isn’t. That Paper Towel Toss Game in Puerto Rico....in the middle of horrific suffering....should have been an ear-piercing national alarm. There were no consequences, so here we are. I shudder to think of what’s next if he’s not stopped.

because he was angry with his brother. And probably loves that this story is known as a warning to anyone who might even consider crossing him.

The conservative media conspiracists including Trump have been wading into dangerous falsifiable waters again and again during this crisis. Their exaggerated and/or ignorant claims are laid bare in record time in this fast-moving news environment.

unless a virus creeps in on him one night.

He enjoys the cruelty. He likes to pit people against each other in his office and then sit back and watch the fight. He would probably be a fan of dog or cock fighting.

Our only option now is November, I fear.

Stay well everyone.

I recall reading about Trump as a youngster, back in Jamaica Estates, Queens. The next door neighbor said that she caught him throwing stones over the fence at her baby who she put in a playpen out in the yard on a nice day.

Given his current behavior it's not hard to believe that the story is true.

When cruelty reaps positive reward, the subject will continue and increase the cruelty to feed an increasing need for the pleasure it brings. And here we are.
