Good on you, Gov. Doug Ducey, for finally ordering Arizonans to stay home

Gov. Doug Ducey has finally issued a statewide stay-at-home order to try to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

This as Democratic mayors from Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff and six other cities – along with hundreds of thousands of Arizonans – were urging him to take action.

Arizonans now join the roughly three of every four Americans ordered to leave their homes only for essential jobs, chores or exercise.

“Our order takes a uniquely Arizona approach,” Ducey said, in announcing the order that takes place at 5 p.m. Tuesday and runs through April 30.
