Stimulus check, and Medicaid waivers.

This is kind of a specific question but my father in law, who is a stroke survivor, has what is called a Medicaid waiver. This allows him to pay all of his Social Security, except $50 month, to the assisted living home and Medicare and Medicaid cover the rest. That $50/month is the max income he can have without losing the waiver.

So what we are wondering is how/if the stimulus check will affect that. To complicate matters I think the waiver rules vary by state (we are in Ohio), but I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it, and has a source/link they could refer us to.

that there will be a mix of interpretations among the states as to how the stimulus check will affect other benefits, like food stamps. The next bill needs to have in its corrections that states are not to interpret the payment as being "income" for the purposes of calculating benefits.
