Washington Americans give high marks to state and local governments for their handling of the fast-moving coronavirus pandemic ... But less than half approve of the job done thus far by President Donald Trump .. according to a new survey from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.
Even so .. the poll finds Trumps approval ratings are among the highest of his presidency. Forty-four percent of Americans support Trumps oversight of the pandemic, in line with his overall 43% approval rating. Thats at the high end for the Republican president during his more than three years in office ...

(10,208 posts)His numbers will drop as more and more things go wrong. That being said I dont believe in some of the polls.

(9,120 posts)Were still in the early stages and Im concerned that the pandemic wont crest until some time in May. I fear that a lot of people we know and love wont be here when the epidemic recedes.
To make matters worse, we havent reached hurricane season yet. We might get a repeat of the 2005 season, when the hurricanes started forming in June and kept going until January 2006.
When I started actively campaigning for presidents, I hoped and prayed that voters would turn away from right-wing conservatism without the country taking a mega-hit like another Great Depression. Unfortunately, it looks like its taking catastrophes, ruin, and sorrow for people to see the political and moral bankruptcy of so-called conservatism.
