Even if chloroquine works it will not save Trump's hide.

First of all, it is unlikely to help save many lives of the very sick patients. And a lot of people have died already and will continue to die before any large scale implementation of chloroquine treatments can begin. And there is a probable risk that adverse side effects will kill as many patients as the treatment saves so it may be a wash in terms of overall effect. And even if none of this is true and chloroquine is a stunning success, it does not negate the effects of months of inaction and denial by Trump which got us to where we are today. It may mean that some of his base does not abandon him but there is no way that he expands his base, no matter how many miracle cures he may stumble upon.
