"what kind of person sees a foreign attack on Americans...and thinks it's acceptable to lie..."

Americans attacked in Libya, four reportedly killed

By Steve Benen

Detailed information is still coming together this morning, but it appears that four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, were killed in Libya by violent protesters. Responding to an obscure anti-Islam video posted to YouTube by some random bigot, and promoted by an obscure Florida pastor, protestors attacked the U.S. consulate in Benghazi with rifles and rocket-propelled grenades.

The Romney campaign, which dismissed foreign policy as a "distraction" yesterday, now hopes to exploit the violence to advance Mitt Romney's political ambitions.

Before violence erupted at the American consulate, the U.S. embassy condemned the fringe YouTube video. Romney, in an official statement, said "the Obama administration's first response" to the violence was to "sympathize with those who waged the attacks" on our consulate. That's not what happened.

I genuinely want to know what kind of person sees a foreign attack on Americans -- an attack that has reportedly led to four U.S. deaths -- and thinks it's acceptable to lie about the violence to gain a few points in the polls. The campaign isn't going Romney's way right now, but is that an excuse to exploit the death of Americans with cheap rhetoric? In the face of violence abroad, this was Romney's first instinct?

holding (he thinks) in his portfolio. It's a path for him to make more $$$, secure lucrative deals for years to come, and to feed his ego. He doesn't give a F about Americans and the future of this country other than the bottom line. Just like at Bain Capital.

I am not defending Romney. You have no reason to make that claim.

I asked for clarification. You have failed to provide it.

If all you can offer at this point is prevarication and evasion then please do not respond any more.

You do realize that you are able to simply cast your gaze upward and read your own words and mine, are you not? If not, then please utilize your scroll wheel on your mouse or practice using the scroll bar at the left or right side of your browser until you feel comfortable with the control and then reread this subthread. You will see I simply asked the question "Are you really suggesting assassination?". If the answer is no, a simple no would suffice.

If you had given me a straightforward answer to my first post (post 6 for your reference, you may find it using the scrolling techniques I outlined earlier) Then I would not have a reason to begin to probe my way through your defensive subsequent remarks (IE:"illegal and unconstitutional means&quot . It's simple, really, but you seem determined to obfuscate and prevaricate. I find this behavior very odd.

If you have something to say, say it. Otherwise, try not making posts that you later feel the need to run away from. Why even post on a discussion board if the concept of a discussion leads you to such unsocial comments?

I have asked repeatedly for you to explain your first post yet you refuse, hiding behind a smokescreen of insults, prevarication and subterfuge. I wonder why you are here, since it is clear you are not interested in any kind of civil discussion. The animus is palpable. Why do you run from your own words?

I assume there must be some other objective here in the avoidance to intelligently and civilly discuss the events of the day. But what could be on the agenda? Such instant, sustained and, most shocking, unwarranted aggression must have some purpose behind it. Surely whatever goal sought to aspire to can not be reached when approached in such a radical fashion. I can not fathom the game but your profile does provide some insight:

Or is it you know nothing of what you are posting about? Why make sad, directionless, unfocused and insulting comments? Don't you have better things to do? Who do you think you are fooling?

You have been provided ample opportunity to explain yourself. You have repeatedly refused. Why not just admit that you really have nothing of worth to say? Just admit it.

Why don't you stop running away and explain yourself? What is it about your own words that you fear so? Is this some black helicopter thing? Do you think that if you explain your post that you will get a visit from the Blue Meanies? Is that it? My goodness, I have never seen someone so scared of his own words before.
