Absentee Ballots are a great way to vote for the many senior citizens, military, and others who cant get to the polls on Election Day. These ballots are very different from 100% Mail-In Voting, which is RIPE for FRAUD, and shouldnt be allowed!

(10,885 posts)However, it reduces the simplicity of VBM for seniors, the disabled, etc. All mail-in ballots for RI must be notarized.
Granted, it's not necessary to stand in lines to vote here, but you have to find a Notary and, in some cases, pay a fee. My bank fortunately does it for free for their customers, but not all offer this service. UPS has Notaries, but they charge $10.50.
