Who is telling Trump to reopen the economy?

Trump has formed a task force to look at reopening parts of the American economy amid the coronavirus outbreak. But he also said this week that he will “rely very heavily” on medical experts, and he declined to publicly set a new target date, after his previous target of Easter didn’t pan out. “I can’t tell you in terms of the date,” Trump said Wednesday.

That wasn’t sufficient for a reporter from Newsmax, though, who pressed him just 10 minutes later on whether he might reopen the economy by April 30 or May 1.

Trump again demurred on setting a date, saying, “I don’t want to do that. … I was criticized for that, so I don’t like giving dates.”

Apparently, though, that’s exactly what he’s doing privately. And as the question from the conservative outlet showed, he’s still getting plenty of pressure on this.

So the dumbest of the dumb are guiding him.

I can almost give you the exact demographics of who will carry the cards... Male, old, 1%, white, christian, straight, 2nd amendment freak, racist, sexist, etc. Y'know, your card carrying Republican. Only with a real card.

it back until docs say it's OK.

Don't really have a problem with wanting to "reopen" as soon as medically possible or planning for that eventuality. At this point, not matter what he does, what happens, etc., he's proven himself to be incompetent in a crisis, along with all the crud he did before.

The CoC is behind him not activating the DPA. They don't want the government in their businesses. Same here I'd bet.

get completely out of control and the effect on the economy could get even worse? Dead people don't work, don't shop, don't spend money on travel, dining or entertainment, don't pay rent or mortgages, student loans, car payments, credit card bills, etc.

This is a typical republican mentality. They are always so short-sighted. They can never see past three months down the road. Which is why they always fuck up the economy whenever they are in power.

I'll believe this indictment stuff when I see it.

Our country does not indict leaders after they've left office. Let me know when Cheney, Rove, Shrub all get in trouble for their deeds.

The working people have been feeling the pain for the last thirty or so years. I say when the orange one opens up the country we keep the spending shut off or, to a very minimum. Let the repugs keep the economy afloat through the election. Give the orange one a ultimatum, resign and we start spending or, suck it until the election.

He thinks a high Dow is the key to his re-election. He sees the Dow as his “ratings.” He wants the Dow higher so that he can continue to brag about his “great” economy.

Flattening the curve extends the timeline considerably and if you go back to 'normal' at any point during the flattened curve you risk a spike nearly as severe as if you'd never attempted the flattening. If he thinks people are pissed off now, just wait for the reaction to seeing they did everything they've done for nothing because a bunch of cultists had to worship their High Dow.
