This video, taken by Arthur Kohl-Riggs, says it all. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a video is worth about a trillion.
Under the newly Scott Walker (Gov, R-FitzWalkerStan) appointed Capitol Police Chief Erwin our State Capitol has become proof positive that our government has been taken over by a junta that is all too happy to use police as a goon squad. The previous chief, who recently left knowing his days were numbered in that job, knew his officers weren't the palace guard. Erwin, a bodyguard for Scott Walker before his appointment, is all too happy to serve in that capacity.
Not only have they arrested protesters inside the Capitol, as Giles Goat Boy has diaried, they have been delivering citations to peoples homes and the supervisors on their jobs.
People arrested for holding up a quotation of our Constitutional right to free speech is breathtaking in it's audacity.
I was stunned by the Capitol Police just blowing off State Represetative Chris Taylor when she went to their office to find out why her constituents were being arrested. It's one thing to disrespect an ordinary citizen, but an elected state official is something else.

attempt to take over this country.
But they will not succeed, as they more they lash out, the more desperate they appear to be and the more committed the people will become to putting an end to their disastrous policies.

GOP Convention Overused Word of the Day: Freedom
It's an oft-overused phrase in Republican speeches in general since 9/11 and last night's speakers were there to make sure "freedom" would not be overshadowed by the shorter, less patriotic word, "built." Check out our video recap for last night's many references to "freedom."

You would think Walker would be more conciliatory.
Here's hoping he and his henchmen are beaten back at the ballot box.
