This is what I got:
Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead
Firefox detected an issue and did not continue to www.freerepublic.com. The website is either misconfigured or your computer clock is set to the wrong time.
Its likely the websites certificate is expired, which prevents Firefox from connecting securely. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.
What can you do about it?
Your computer clock is set to 4/17/2020. Make sure your computer is set to the correct date, time, and time zone in your system settings, and then refresh www.freerepublic.com.
If your clock is already set to the right time, the website is likely misconfigured, and there is nothing you can do to resolve the issue. You can notify the websites administrator about the problem.

(1,726 posts)My guess is that they didn't pay for a new license. I didn't continue - so no delousing needed.

(33,643 posts)SSL stands for 'Secure Socket Layer'.
It's part of the system that allows for domains that are on secure http, aka addresses which start with https:// and show a lock icon or 'secure' in the address bar of your browser.
Every X months you have to pay a Certification Authority to renew your Certificate (or you pay your hosting company and then they renew). It's not usually even that much, but ... I guess they're too friggin' cheap.
There's no harm in going past the browser warning (I mean, apart from the fact that you'll be ... you know ... at fucking Free Republic), as long as you're not like giving them your credit card info over regular http://. Which shouldn't even be possible really, so ...
Not to mention I'm quite nobody here would do something so asinine.

(4,899 posts)Got the same message. Didn't go any further. I was curious. Lately, they've been reposting QAnon stuff. QAnon supposedly believes that Trump is a brilliant warrior against something bad. And that he's communicating to them in code. Like Cofveve...? I'm wondering if they are assuming that his recent remarks are the call for the start of the "revolution' against something something.
I think we should give them a territory if they promise to stay there, without any assistance from the outside world.

(31,261 posts)Instead of bloodshed, I would be willing to give them half the country, as long as they stay the fuck out of the blue half (actually, I would support building a wall to keep them out, a wall just before a two mile long, deep moat full of Nile Croc-USA Croc hybrids, just in case they become smart enough to get over the wall.
