When they marched in Charlottesville, waving Nazi-swastikas and shouting Third Reich slogans, they were very fine people upset over a statue.
When they marched in the Union-state Michigan, waving Confederacy-flags and Nazi-swastikas, they were displaying them ironically.
What does a white man have to do in the US to be considered a Nazi????

(43,210 posts)the true nature of everyday Nazism was not in my view adequately defined. It was foremost a system of dominance and exploitation, plunder, taking from others. Historians still struggle with it, they were busy with its consequences. Nazi leaders used their power and the State to grab resources, "collect" art, establish bank accounts, buy castles and houses for their official duties and retreats. Uniformity, fear, ideology, weaponry were their tools. Violence was their means. It was a tight system of control.
But the states are not using Nazism to protect public health. That is a perversion of logic, and fact. The states use no violence, there is no plunder, no extra-legal dominance. There is order for the public good. These protestors act like Nazis for their private economic interests. Sure they want their businesses open. We all do, Americans love to consume, when it's safe to interact.
Protestors bring the second wave upon themselves. Enjoy.

(740 posts)That's easy when it comes to Fox. Be a member of the Democratic Party and be working to protect the public.

(18,672 posts)I purchased a Nazi flag to ironically wave it around in public. Oops! That sounds ridiculous, and we know a large number of conservatives just dont get irony. They could save money on Nazi and Conderate flags, which arent cheap and just make a white flag out of an old sheet tied to a stick. Same thing

(29,149 posts)which is thoroughly idiotic, full stop.
There were some pictures circulating purporting to be of people at the rally carrying Nazi flags, but apparently they were from an earlier protest of a Sanders speech in Idaho and/or a Michigan nazi protest of the pride parade in Detroit last year.
Here's the one I saw. It's not an indication that the carrier is a nazi, but it's pretty clear evidence she's a fool:
