The return trip might have some empty seats though. Those cult members would be packed in ice and flying in the cargo hold. Hopefully one of them would be Trump

How the Supreme Leader got his last ride in a stretch Lincoln.
by Mike Davis | Dec 30, 2011
{snip}
Fords Wixom Assembly Plant near Detroit didnt build stretch limos in the 1970s. The Kim car no doubt started at Wixom and then had the custom body added at a Chicago or Cincinnati company specializing in such conversions.
I now have to wonder if Kims youngest son and designated heir to the NK dictatorship realizes how many mega-dollars this 30-plus-year-old classic might be worth in the hands of one of Americas car auctioneers?
One final, Detroit-chauvinistic thought: who says American cars dont last or arent desired by foreign buyers?

OAITW r.2.0
(24,575 posts)so Kim exits, stage down. The next in line - no one, cuz there is no one allowed to outshine Dear Leader - will be a military hack type. Then China will explain the facts of life to said military leader and suddenly, NK is a close friend of China and the whole rotten facade of a political government implodes as China starts to abosrb NK into their orbit.

(31,261 posts)republics other than it's own, like Taiwan. My guess is China would be perfectly happy with a pliable leader, the sister looks like that exact type to me, she seems to be somewhat oriented to opening NK up to outside influence.
I have seen no evidence that he had set anyone up for succession. It could be a free for all. They are not going to suddenly have elections and civil rights. The best thing that might happen, is some general who is somewhat pragmatic, manages to take power. If it's a family member, we will probably get more of the same.

North Korea marked the anniversary of the birthday of its founding father and Kim's grandfather, Kim Il Sung, as a national holiday on Apr 15, but Kim was not seen in attendance.
Daily NK, a speciality website run mostly by North Korean defectors, cited unidentified sources inside the isolated state saying Kim is recovering at a villa in the Mount Kumgang resort county of Hyangsan on the east coast after getting the procedure on Apr 12 at a hospital there.
++++
Kim's health has deteriorated in recent months due to heavy smoking, obesity and overwork, the Daily NK report said. "My understanding is that he had been struggling (with cardiovascular problems) since last August but it worsened after repeated visits to Mount Paektu," a source was quoted as saying, referring to the country's sacred mountain.

[Breaking] Seoul official plays down report on NK leader Kims failing health
Speculation mounts about Kim's health, but no confirmation yet about rumors

An earlier report carried by a S. Korean online media outlet specializing in North Korea news said that Kim had undergone heart surgery and was in recovery.
Kim was not present at the celebration of the birthday of his grandfather Kim Il-sung on April 15, fueling speculation about his health. It was the first time he had been absent from the event since he came to power in 2012.
In response to the CNN report, a Seoul official familiar with the North Korean matter told Yonhap News Agency that nothing particular pointed to Kims failing health, saying he had made several public appearances until recently.
I wonder if the 'ole boy may have suffered a stroke. Information on this guy is about as secretive as Trump's weight, tax returns and true golf scores......
Note that the Daily NK site appears to be down at this time: https://www.dailynk.com/english/
