I watched a teacher parade outside my office window a number of years ago. I stepped outside and applauded them, told them "Teachers ROCK!", and said anything they needed, I would vote for.
Several of them stepped out of the parade, ran over and high-fived me. I love it.
But they were so young! Granted, I was in my mid-forties at the time. But they all looked like kids! Like students, rather than teachers.

Was the first thing I thought of when I read your post!
I think that a lot when I sub. The old heads in the classrooms are 10 to 20 years younger than me.
