WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. (AP) The Navajo Department of Health has reported 63 new cases of coronavirus on the vast reservation with three more deaths.
The Navajo Nation now has 1,206 positive COVID-19 cases and 48 known deaths as of Tuesday.
But tribal health officials said the numbers dont include cases for border towns as was being previously reported by the Navajo Epidemiology Center.
They said the 1,206 cases includes 569 men and 637 women with an average age of 48 and the average age among deaths at 65.

(14,023 posts)Earth in terms of history. Tens of thousands of square miles with few inhabitants. Someone dies at a home, it is left abandoned, from a millennia of dealing with infectious diseases. At least among traditional Navajo.
Yet, with modern lifestyle changes, the virus is rapidly spreading. Apparently everyone going to the same few stores and Walmarts (according to my sister-in-law who lives out there.
Warning are now being broadcast on every available radio station, newspaper and the Navajo TV channel.
