Just saw this on CNN.
SO - while Trump has steadfastly REFUSED to use the Defense Production Act to procure adequate N-95 masks, isolation gowns, gloves, face shields and other protective gear for healthcare workers and other front-line, public-facing industries in order to help them, you know, stay ALIVE - - - he WILL use the DPA to order factory meat-packing plants which have been the source of dozens of outbreaks across the country resulting in 10's of thousands of cases of CV19 and an untold number of dead - to stay open.
FFFFFFUUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKKK YYYYYYYOOOOOOOUUUUUU!! You worthless pile of extruded swamp excrement.

(10,165 posts)The main reason he's doing this, IMHO, is to protect some of his supporters' profits.
And to keep himself in Big Macs.

(84 posts)I can't believe this! I mean, keeping the food supply chain running is critical, but so is PPE for everyone.

(1,927 posts)I believe he ordered 3M to produce more N95 mask's for domestic use. If I remember right, it was around the same time he invoked it for ventilators. Late March/early April I think.
Also, keeping the meat processing plants is critical. If too many go down for too long, farmers will have to adjust their head count and once things pick back up we could see a multiple month shortage as production outruns supply. Animals take time to mature before they are ready. And farmers are not going to keep the current number around if they have no place to sell them.
