and she's on several arts board (the opera, the theatre) with Really Rich People, you know, the ones who can sponsor entire seasons of the opera and have 5 vacation homes.

Interestingly, my pretty rich friend (got her husband a BMW for his birthday) voted for Trump, and her Really Rich Friend voted for Clinton last time and will donate to Biden this time. Really Rich Lady thinks that Trump is a philistine, is disgusted that he used his "charity" to benefit himself, and has contempt for him because he has no interest in art, music, or theatre. She said that whatever wealth he has (and she thinks he doesn't have actual wealth) is wasted on him because he has no sense of beauty or culture. (Nailed it!)

My pretty rich friend did tell me last month that Trump had gotten on her last nerve and she'd never vote for him again. It wasn't any child-jailing policy or horror at his fascism, just horror at how disgusting he is, how he's rude and stupid.

Not sure what that all means, but I do think his aesthetic awfulness-- how crude and uncultured he is- might alienate the sort of Vanderbilt-rich people and those who aspire to that.

(what with it plastered all over his buildings) that the "old money" folks couldn't stand him. They thought he was arrogant, gauche and tasteless. Nouveau riche with no class.

They need to reread "The Goose That Laid The Golden Egg" - maybe there's an audio version

However, there's a substantial section of Democratic support too--the Republicans know better but are motivated by their tax retiurns

I know someone that works for someone really really rich. They fly that person all over the world.

They aren’t going anywhere right now.

That’s all I know.
