(15,325 posts)Libertarian KOCH Pacs are notorious for funding 3rd party spoilers.
Think Tea Party & Sarah Palin was an anomoly?
Nope Tea Party is the KOCH baby.
This is an old game to them & they wrote the playbook on playing both sides. They buy everything!
Their cash influence is in everything the Democratic Party objects to.

Think tanks and political organizations
Charles and David Koch have been involved in, and have provided funding to, a number of other think tanks and public policy organizations:
They provided the initial funding for the Cato Institute, they are key donors to the Federalist Society,[70] and they also support, or are members of, the Mercatus Center,[71] the Institute for Humane Studies,[71] the Institute for Justice,[72] the Institute for Energy Research,[73] the Heritage Foundation,[74] the Manhattan Institute,[74] the Reason Foundation,[71] the George C. Marshall Institute,[75] the American Enterprise Institute,[75] and the Fraser Institute,[76][77] and the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust.[78][79]
As of 2015, David Koch sits on the board of directors of the Cato Institute,[80] the Reason Foundation and the Aspen Institute.[81]
A 2013 study by the Center for Responsive Politics said that nonprofit groups backed by a donor network organized by Charles and David Koch raised more than $400 million in the 20112012 election cycle.[73]

(111,110 posts)Many seem to believe that he will take votes away from Democrats. They believe that Republicans unhappy with Trump will vote for Amash, rather than the Democrst, and that will take votes away from the Democrat?
I'm not sure I understand that logic? Could someone clarify that for me?
I am inclined to believe disenchanted Republicans will more likely vote for Amash than Biden, if given the chance. But how does that help Trump and the Republicans?

(14,920 posts)not inflate his importance with disproportionate coverage of his vanity campaign. There are many more important issues at the moment beyond stroking the ego of yet another narcissistic politician, especially a Tea Partier and Freedom Caucus co-founder like Amash whose morally bankrupt philosophy helped create the current debacle.
