Pregnant woman from Eagle Butte (S.D.) is first female federal prisoner to die of COVID-19

A pregnant woman transferred from South Dakota to Texas during the coronavirus pandemic is the first female federal inmate to die of the virus.

Andrea Circle Bear, a 30-year-old from Eagle Butte, died Tuesday, according to a news release from the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Her baby survived after being delivered by cesarean section.

Circle Bear was transferred March 20 by the U.S. Marshals Service from the jail in Winner to FMC Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas, a facility for female inmates with health needs.

Like all other federal inmates, Circle Bear was immediately placed on quarantine. She was seen March 28 by prison medical staff and taken to the hospital for concerns about her pregnancy before returning that day. Three days later, medical staff found she had a fever and dry cough so they took her to the hospital where she was placed on a ventilator.

Not sure why it says "pregnant," since she had been delivered of her baby before she died.

In any case, fuck the carceral state.

any Specialty Care available at Eagle Butt. I do wish folks would open their eyes while they are Traveling as a Tourist across America. And as they traverse our Country, please think about what you see and hear.

Thune and Rounds own this as well as Moen. The Native Community as a whole has never been supported by the State of South Dakota for decades. They have been fodder for the next GOP Campaign and exploited by every unit of Government in that state.

heard it from my Trumper Siblings. Should say Nazi Siblings. Seen the true ugly day to day picture of what the Packinghouse Workers have to endure in their Communities in these Red States.

Heard the cat calls while fueling up at Hispanic and Somali Males and Females fueling their cars at the same time. Watch Skin Head Locals throw a Somali Ladies clean laundry on the floor of a Laundromat in Grand Island three years ago.

Watch two White Guys throw a Beer Can at a Native American Fueling up in Flandreau South Dakota and a local Cop parked outside the C Store did nothing.

USA USA!
