Political WireOf course, Trump told Reuters he doesnt believe the polls.
Do you want proof these numbers are correct? Trump isnt planning trips to Wisconsin. Michigan or Pennsylvania next week. Hes hitting the road to defend Arizona and Ohio, NBC News reports.
If Trump loses either of those two states, he likely loses the election in a landslide.

(66,434 posts)winning without Arizona. I mean, he almost certainly can't win without Texas and/or Florida, but those seem less likely to turn blue this election cycle.
After I read that, I donated to the Arizona DNC.

(16,616 posts)McSally is losing to Mark Kelly in recent polling and fundraising. I'm not even sure McSally is campaigning. She ran one desperate ad calling Mark Kelly a "Bernie Bro" in early March and seemed to drop off the map after that.
Yesterday, Governor Ducey took what I interpret as actions to distance himself from Trump by extending our lockdown hours after Trump announced a visit here. He said our state isn't ready to reopen.

(7,636 posts)that's a slam dunk if Biden takes Texas. Its one of the biggest EV states for the GOP. Without it , they can't make it work.

(66,434 posts)The most electoral votes, and the only Red State (I think) that pays out more in taxes than it takes in in Federal benefits.
If the repukes lose Texas, they may as well fold the Party's tents...

Small Town America will or is having issues with the reality of how do we fix our image after all the death we have just witnessed. They know it is going to hit them where they never expected,in the pocket book. Not in my back yard has come home to roost.

And if by opening steel mills, trump never said they'd be making steel, just opening...many are just the backdrops for movies and tv shows.
The Political Problem with Pennsylvania isn't Pittsburgh or Philly, it's the uneducated, brain-washed, genetic descendant rednecks from the center and northern parts of the state. But that is changing somewhat.

(1,586 posts)This year I think I will get an absentee ballot. If for any reason I can't, I will be standing in line to vote him out, regardless of any risks.

They seemed motivated to get him out this time.

(43,249 posts)Hard to believe the election will be decided on only 6-7 states. AZ FL OH PA WI NC maybe ME. And of those 7, I'd only count PA and WI likely Democratic. I'll believe AZ NC OH when I see it, and FL? Do they count, barter, trade, or some combination?
Why are we so polarized? Where did reason and logic go?

(3,912 posts)The methodology they use is right on the site. They do no interpretation of the data, just render it from the polling data they use. The numbers are completely separate from any commentary they also publish.

(29,149 posts)Texas has been polling in the margin of error, and the latest poll has Biden ahead, so he's going to have to invest in Texas as well.
Of course, forcing the meat plants to stay open means likely spreading the disease among immigrant, minority, and likely democratic-leaning communities. Which might actually make a difference in a state like that.
A lot can happen in the next 6 months, but it's good to have some optimism to help us all fight on!

(5 posts)I don't think Trump will lose Ohio (it will be close) but if he does, it's over. I think Biden probably wins Arizona though.
It's good that we're making the GOP have to keep Arizona and Ohio. Trump can't win without them!

When Trump realizes that he will lose the election, he will hold the Republican Party guilty of not making the persuasive case for his election and the general public guilty for not voting for him. He will examine the paths to punish all of the guilty.
That is the reason that I think he will resign in mid-October. It will screw the GOP donors and leadership, all GOP candidates, and his base. In his mind, he will also think it screws America.
