And with so many allegations, people will just have to assume it is true, right? Just like Al Franken all over again.

(47,558 posts)But she did.
She weaponized her accusation by waiting until it would hurt the most people, not just Biden, but you and me and the whole country.
And fuck her for that.

(82,849 posts)Reade chickened out on a Fox interview, an opportunity to tell her story. Christine Blasey Ford appeared, under oath, before a hostile Senate Committee and answered every last question asked.
Can we draw any conclusions about the veracity of the two women?

(17,931 posts)It's probably not about Faux core viewers anyway. They'd believe years old stale crap and wouldn't vote for Biden if Trump sacrificed real infants to baal on national TV. I bet the checks from the Trump campaign have come to an abrupt halt as she's no longer reliable and they deemed her unable to sway middle of the road voters or cast any serious disparagement on Biden. She may be more of a liability now than an asset. Heck, she may have even threatened to blow the whole scheme if they didn't fund whatever her demands are. The possibilities are many.
But what we do know...she's backtracked on filing an official complaint and backtracked on the type of alleged encounter.

(1,729 posts)I questioned this approach even then. And I despise Kavanaugh, but am not willing to sacrifice the bedrock of the presumption of innocence for cheap political again against anyone. Those spearheading the #metoo movement should have realized that careening from the horrible default position of disbelieving women to the, quite frankly, equally horrible default position of believing women would always end this way. It reminds me of the far, far-left types who doxx right-wingers while screaming about doxxing being bad when right-wingers do. You set the rules of engagement for your enemy when you set them for yourselves. #metoo should have always been about listening to alleged victims of assault, hearing them out, being compassionate, and then evaluating their story. That we set the standard as they are "automatically telling the truth," absolutely sets up. The article Scarborough links to is right. With the current standard, #metoo is little more than a hit squad when it should be representing a standard of protecting victims while also protecting the accused, as the latter is the very standard of innocent until proven guilty upon which our country is based.

(7,869 posts)Blasey Ford recalled what she could and didn't add to nor embellish on what she couldn't.
Blasey Ford was an imminently credible witness, in direct contrast with that sobbing, angry, lying mess that was Kavanaugh.

(17,931 posts)she's backtracking on filing an official complaint, since apparently none exists. Word is she's backtracking on what kind of contact she supposedly had with Biden as well. Two lies. Down in flames. 15 minutes of fame over in 3...2...1....
Oh, and those Donald J. Trump checks? Not worth the paper they're printed on. Sorry, Tara, but you've been rolled.

(81,516 posts)Im digesting and processing everything he said, she told The Wall Street Journal. I will respond.
Reade said that she had planned on doing a sit-down interview with Fox News on Sunday, but canceled it due to threats she received aimed at her and her adult daughter.
In 2019, Reade was one of several women who came forward and said that Bidens alleged public touching made them uncomfortable. In late March, Reade alleged publicly that in 1993, the former vice president sexually assaulted her in a corridor on Capitol Hill.

(3,282 posts)As soon as her story starts falling apart she immediately falls to to "I'm being attacked" or "I'm being threatened."
When asked why she didn't tell her assault story last year when she told her harassment story she said the reporter she was talking to was shutting her down. Please. This was a reporter who was actively looking for stories about Biden harassing people. I'm sure he would have just hated hearing an assault story.
As for the "reporters"...
Katie Halper, Ryan Grimm, Nathan Robinson, Glen Greenwald.....
they are all propagandists, not journalists.
