Here's an interesting (anecdotal) survey:

After being closed for seven weeks, the new owners of my dental practice asked me, a week ago today, when I would be willing to return to the office. I stated that I would start immediately with the proviso that we had full PPE. They assured me that they had obtained it and I began seeing emergencies last Monday. Now I had a list of just over 100 people who had called me with issues of one brand or another, thankfully most responded well to prescription medications, and I gave this list to my office staff to call and appoint. (There were another 100 who had minor issues who didn’t require intervention immediately).

Fewer than 20 wished to venture into our office despite the fact that we assured them that they would not have to wait in the waiting room, that we had the necessary PPE, and everything else according to Hoyle, as it were.

They were uniformly appreciative of the outreach but except for people in dire straits or a couple people who are simply trusting of my word no matter what, we are very quiet.

My point is that these RWers can force places to open perhaps, but methinks not that many will be showing and purchasing to make the effort worthwhile.

A solid majority of us are more than happy to stay home. The idiots who want to rush back to 'normal' are in the very noisy minority.

and they aren't "going back to normal" without some strong indications that things are getting better with regards to the virus.

Maybe in some areas it is, but even so, I don't expect huge influxes of people wanting to crowd into offices and clinics any time soon unless they dearly need to.

Keep up the good fight!
