Okay with me. Infect each other. Less stupid. I will hunker down until they finish killing each other.

Trump lured them into downtown with his Blue Angel stunt. More blood on his hands

(15,830 posts)Missouri had the voting and 40 got the virus but no deaths. This could be similar. Maybe get the virus but not bad or death result. Not everyone seems to get it. I wish theyd follow up on who was there and got the virus.

(5,969 posts)at the time the event happened. I'm pretty sure had the election happened in NY at the same time, we would have seen more severe consequences. But there seem to events that lead to more infections than others. People standing in a line with limited talking and some distance between them is different than groups of people celebrating or people cheering in a packed stadium distributing droplets throughout the arena.

(65,409 posts)just don't understand why it's such a big deal to watch a handful of planes fly across the sky.
Yeah, they're in tight formation, but it's not like they are doing stunts or anything. They are just flying by.
I too was a USAF brat and also served in the Air Force. You are correct, planes kind of lose their mystique when a teacher on base has to pause while the jets take off LOLOL
HOWEVER, I understand people watching planes a hell of a lot more than I understand people watching golf, or cars going in a bit oval.

(34 posts)Just title them American's "Wave 2 beginnings". Come on do people really think the virus is gone? 1 week after opening GA, 1000 cases yesterday and 1000 cases today. The virus is still here and still strong.

(34,136 posts)I'd do it but my first message on my Twitter account asked him to resign - and I got banned for several days. I may never post a tweet again it was so traumatic.

(28,799 posts)i have been very honest with him and have not been blocked.
I don't think he sees my tweets, assuming his keepers mute them or something. I do it for myself and my blood pressure.
csziggy
(34,136 posts)And I wasn't blocked permanently. Twitter wanted my cell number which I just don't give out Since I don't reliably answer it or check for calls - and I do NOT want texts from internet companies.
A day or two after they blocked me, they sent me a welcome message. I haven't tried posting since I got that since I don't really want to tweet much. I just wanted to hassle Trump by asking him to resign.
Maybe I should sent him another RESIGN, YOU TWIT! message and see what happens!

(34,136 posts)Not just the virus, just too much going on.
We're almost at the end of the construction on our addition so all the picky little details are coming to a head. I'm a late night person and like sleeping till late morning. The construction crews show (when they show up) early - the framing crew was getting here before 6 AM! So I am suffering a severe lack of sleep. Every time I sit in my recliner I fall asleep - and a few times have done it at my desk.
Maybe three more weeks and we will be nearly done - aside from landscaping and fixing problems we found along the way - the roof above our screen porch has been leaking since it was new and since that is below the upstairs deck, it's not that easy to fix.
On top of this is the virus and not being able to truly stay isolated, and the political mess. I want to volunteer, but until the addition is done I really can't.

(63,221 posts)I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but I have always hated the Blue Angels and other flight shows. First of all, I can't stand the noise. Secondly, I have always feared what kind of major civilian catastrophe could happen if they crashed mid-air and landed in a heavily populated area. I just don't really go for that kind of thing. It doesn't impress me at all.

(129,128 posts)and probably came in from VA or MD (i.e., "tourists" ).
And I expect actual city residents are close to or are at home (and maybe out on a little front yard or backyard or porch/deck - with street after street of row houses).

(28,799 posts)I've been seeing more people out. i only go out briefly a couple times a day to walk the dog. I'm getting more paranoid by the minute because as a country we are not facing this crisis together and so we will lose. I keep thinking about WWII when the entire nation was united against a common enemy. Now millions of us are convinced that the rest of us is the enemy and refuses to recognize that this is an actual, deadly, pandemic.
i fucking hate republicans and blame them 100% for this state of affairs. with a great deal of scorn reserved for the media.

(1,924 posts)The state lockdowns, whether lifted or not by the Governors, will likely be widely ignored by June, if not earlier. People are growing restless, especially with summer coming. Only an absolute horrific death toll will scare people back inside I fear.

(6,139 posts)One month - max, during which time governments should have expanded testing and ramped up hospital capacities. If it didnt happen, then open the gates and go for herd immunity, the old fashioned and most effective way at expense of high death toll.
