(26,291 posts)that much of a rebound before the election.
Why? Because many of the corporations and companies that fired and let people go are more often than not run by asshole Republicans and they will hold off on hiring back most of the people plus as they do hire them back most of them will fuck the people over on wages and low ball them.

(90,339 posts)although I think the real power behind him (oligarchs) does, but they are dead set against letting the Federal government perform effectively as they seek to destroy it. The last thing they want is the American people seeing their government save the nation. They would rather let many die and crash the economy into another depression in order to prove their point.

He will say, after the fact, once the planet is stabilizing health wise, which I imagine may be the case by Oct/Nov, that it all would have gone away regardless. Maybe even quicker!! If everyone had listened to him. A lot of people are saying, he'll say, its the Democrats who are actually responsible for this terrible situation.
That all sounds preposterous to us, knowing how he disbanded Obama's response team, and denied the severity of the virus for months. But its not meant for us. Its for Fox News and his base. But also opens a crack for the rest of the MSM news to ask the same question about COVID19's effect on the economy, and to insinuate how Trump can't be held responsible for that.
So no I don't see the COVID recession, will have any significant blame attached to it. And in fact if the economy IS starting to finally move and get back to improving numbers by the week when Fall starts, that consistent upwardly movement he will brag as all his doing. All he needs is 10% of borderline Never Trumpers, and Independents, to be swayed over.
