This Made Me A little Emotional . Bless POTUS

Ricky Watson of Littleton, Colorado wipes tears from his eyes after he thanked President Barack Obama for repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” at a campaign rally in Golden, Colorado, September 13. Watson was kicked out of the Air Force 25 years ago for being gay.

Here's a quote from the tumblr page..

"Let’s face it, a mixed kid from Hawaii born to a single mom is not likely to become President of the United States. But in America it can happen because of education, because somebody gave me opportunity.

President Obama in Golden, Colorado today"

And, this is a Vid made from his trip to Golden, CO today that has Ricky Watson in it..

Thanks to the obama diary

Traveled there when I was maybe eight, and I still remember how beautiful it was. I hope that the president gets to at least enjoy the scenery where he goes. The campaign trail must be grueling.

And I absolutely mean that as a compliment. His admonishments that YOU are the change proves that he is an it-getter; and that he knows that his strength and power comes from the people that took a chance and elected him. That's why he wants us to, as Roosevelt said "Make him do it". True change comes from the people, not from the President. Every time he steps up to a microphone he says "Thank YOU, Thank YOU, Thank YOU., with the emphasis on YOU. Masterful.

Love to hear him call it Obamacare! I always knew that moniker would backfire on the Republicans. These R's are so dumb...they have always feared universal health care as the thing that would render Republicans irrelevant, and then when Obama passed health care reform, they NAMED it after him! Bunch of boneheads.

And bless President Obama. He is a truly decent man. The contrast between him and Romney couldn't be starker. Did anyone see that clip of Romney with the gay veteran? I can't cut & paste with this mobile phone yet--sorry.

I can sooooo relate to this, having been kicked out December 12, 1963 for the same damn reason. Had enlisted June 12, 1961. My whole life would have been so different. Instead of struggling today on SS of $800/mo, I would've served at least 20 years with a much better retirement.

What about all the rest of us that were discharged before DADT for alleged "homosexual relations"? What the hell do I have to be thankful for? How about some retribution for everyone that was kick out of the service for being homosexual? This new policy doesn't help those whose lives have already been ruined. I am happy for those gay men and women who are serving in our armed forces. I guess life is not fair.
