These assholes are not going to easily release any power or authority, many are probably more than willing to further debase our system than have Pelosi as third in line step in for Trump and Pence incapacitated or dead.

Trump and Pence would still hold their Office of President and Vice President while Pelosi acted as President. The Presidential Succession Act of 1947 clearly states that a person acting as President only does so until a person higher up in the succession chain is capable of taking their place. Furthermore, the Presidential Succession Act of 1947 clearly requires Pelosi to resign from the House of Representatives in order to act as President. She would be become unemployed if/when Trump and/or Pence recovered.

The only sticky situation I can imagine is if Pelosi were to say, "I'm not interested in resigning as Speaker" and Mitch McConnell were to argue that Pelosi "shall" act as President as the Act states. The constitutional crisis I see playing out is whether or the Speaker has the ability to disqualify themselves from Presidential succession by refusing to resign their office.

The question would be if her successor would agree to step down. You do not need to be a member of the house.

Had my doubts about Pelosi wanting to be acting POTUS even before you adding that Pelosi would have to resign from the House.

But still question whether Trump et al and the GOP in general would follow process. I tire about hearing how things should work but then don't because the GOP does not agree on anything not in their favor, Constitution and laws be damned.

And revoke the security clearances of everyone who received one from this administration.

Then when pandemic response is on autopilot, look at voter protections, and election security.

When that's under control, undo every muthaf*cking thing dump did. EVERYTHING!

Prosecute any surviving thugs from dump's regime.

I'm sure Pelosi would have her most capable professionals organized & busy heading up specific depts, undoing the damage as quickly as possible.
She's succcessfully lead an entire House in the right direction for so many years.
