TX law firm manager fired after tweeting threat re: store face mask requirements

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.courthousenews.com/law-firm-worker-fired-after-posting-threat-against-face-mask-requirements/amp/

"The Thompson & Knight law firm fired a Dallas-based administrative manager Friday after he allegedly posted a threat on social media against businesses with Covid-19 face mask requirements that had references to a handgun and hollow point-bullets.
........

“Any business that tells me to put on a mask (Whole Foods on Lomo Alto) in Dallas will get told to kiss my Corona ass and will lose my business forever,” Bain allegedly wrote. “It’s time to stop this BULLSHIT. Do I have to show the lame security guard outside of a ghetto store my CV19 test result?”

The post threatens to “show him my Glock 21” handgun shooting range results.

“With Hornady hollow points. Pricey ammo, but worth it in this situation” Bain allegedly wrote. “They have reached the limit. I have more power than they do … they just don’t know it yet.”
......

“This post is a complete violation of the values of our Firm, including our commitment to the health and safety of the communities we serve,” the law firm posted on Facebook. “We have terminated this individual’s employment and notified the proper authorities about the post as a precaution.”
.......(more)

I have been in those, all have security and many have doors that can't be entered without security allowing access. I have seen some that had up pictures of people that had to absolutely be denied access or even have police called on them.

Whether security is armed varies by the state and the firm that owns office towers. At the worst, a angry person would shoot it out with security, at the best police would be nearby to intervene.

Like a version of 'look how important I am'.

This kind of shit is why, even though I am a strong gun rights supporter, I am also a strong registration supporter. That nutbag needs to be disarmed by the police, and evaluated by mental health professionals, immediately or people could be killed.

I mean, he doesn't NEED to be evaluated, he's clearly out of his gourd, but Due Process and all that.

Interesting that he was hired by a law firm and held what seems to be an important position that pays fairly well. I say interesting because this man is clearly unstable and ready, as has been noted above, to pop. Maybe he interviews well? Many psychopaths can pass for genuinely normal, even kind, people when it suits them.

But all the "normal" veneer has been worn thin by current plaguey circumstances and his sad and angry soul has come to the fore. He now presents as deranged, as dangerous, and as -- per his own words -- homicidal.

I hope the firm gas notified the police and that they are at least keeping a watch on him.

Neily served as co‐counsel in District of Columbia v. Heller, the historic case in which the Supreme Court held for the first time that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to own a gun for self‐defense.

Neily began his legal career as a law clerk to Judge Royce Lamberth on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. After that he spent four years in the trial department of the Dallas‐based firm Thompson & Knight.

Google does not need to know that a cluster of people (on DU) all accessed the same article, thereby establishing connections among those people that are then fed into the maw of their giant Big Data operation for profit on your reading habits.

By trimming off obvious stuff from the front and back of the link, I was able to go to the original article without going through Google.

https://www.courthousenews.com/law-firm-worker-fired-after-posting-threat-against-face-mask-requirements/

I trimmed off "www.google.com/amp/s/" from the front and "amp/" from the back.

When the OP takes this simple step it means DU members don't have and it means that even those who don't care are protected.

When a baker doesn't want to bake a cake for a same sex wedding, or a pharmacist refuses to sell contraceptives then these right-wing nuts are jumping up and down about it being the store's (or person's) right to do what they want with their business. But when that right-wing nut is impacted in the slightest way by the store's policies, then it is time to go get your gun and threaten them.

His comment about having to "show" his Covid negative test made my eyes roll so far back into my head I've got a migraine now. Basically, this guy is probably just a blathering candy ass. First of all, he probably has never had a Covid test. Nobody but the West Wing infestation can anyway, but if taken on its face, getting a negative test is definitive proof that he'll never get the infection. A test is just a snapshot in time, and it doesn't mean that the one test is lifelong.
