ObamaCare is already paying dividends
The short version: Len is allowed to attend his trade school because of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Next year he will have a good job.
The long version: My friends son, Len (late 20s), had Kaiser Medical for his whole life. A few years ago he let his payment lapse. A little while later he tried to go back to Kaiser, but they wouldnt reinstate his policy, or give him a new one, because he was a bit heavy; they called his weight a pre existing condition.
Len decided to apply to a trade school that trains linemen for PG&E, but they wouldnt take him because he had no medical insurance; school policy. Lens mom searched far and wide for an insurance carrier that would give him a policy, but because Kaiser had denied him no other insurance company would give him a policy. No policy, no trade school admission. He was just another young man without medical insurance, without a job, and with no hope of training for the job he wanted.
Then, miracle of miracles, the ACA passed. The NEXT DAY his mom received five phone calls from the five insurance companies she had been trying to get to sell her son a policy, all vying for her business. She got Len a policy, and he enrolled in the trade school. He is now training for his new job. He loves the school, he loves the lineman gig, he's back in great physical shape, and he is one of the top students in his class.
Tally up another job directly attributable to Obamas policies.
