(7,447 posts)it's why we need to triple our efforts and get out the vote. Whatever you did last election, triple it this time.
If you called 1000 people, call 3000. If you drove 100 people to the polls, drive 300. If you have the money, triple your donations within the legal limits of course.
If you voted, go find three other people to vote for Biden et al this time.
I have already converted one Trump voter, and I am working on a disinterested voter now, although being in Texas not sure it's going to be enough, but I will keep trying.
Point is, this is going to be close, and we better be locked in like it's a tied game with two minutes to go the entire time.
All of this "Biden's going to trounce Trump" is great for morale, but maybe not so great for effort.
And if folks want to feel motivate to prove this all wrong and that Biden wins easily, then by all means, go out and do everything to make it a rout.
Stop being angry that it might be close, and start being motivated to make it not so.

(7,447 posts)unfortunately this is the choir for the most part, here and at DK.
Preaching here isn't really effective, but preaching out there in the wider world can be.
I am happy I converted one Trumper, but the reality is there are two sets of people we have to energize:
1. Our base. We have to not only get Joe as high among Dems and Cheeto is among Reps, but we have to engage turnout so that more of us come out than ever before.
2. Infrequent voters. We need to motivate and energize some of those people who don't like Trump but can't be bothered to show up to the polls or even fill out a mail-in ballot.
I could care less about trying to turn Trumpers en masse (even though I turned one lol). If we do those two things, we win. Easier said than done though and it's going to take real effort.

(15,751 posts)at this point the polls are crap..it's not difficult for pollsters to screw the numbers in their favor..lets get to and thru the convention...I get pissed every time a bogus poll comes out and the OMGs start screaming WE'RE DOOMED...enough already...we have more important shit to deal with right now.

(92,394 posts)which was extremely misleading:
https://www.democraticunderground.com/10142492922
The way they grouped those battle group those battleground states, and the sampling numbers really make this poll very questionable
when they take about 40 people from each battleground state, that isn't even scientific
That being said, because winners are determined by the electoral college, not the popular vote, and we are six months away from the election, anything can happen, but I sure wouldn't rely on this poll.
Look at the individual state polls, with a valid sampling, an you might have an idea at this point in time
The polls sure called the winner of the Democratic primary
Betting sites are garbage

(2,949 posts)Silly me. Not realizing the media wants a horse race. We of course must increase our efforts to dump trump. but that goes without saying.
