Trump and his administration completely failed to put in place a national strategy to deal with the pandemic. They failed when it came to suppling protective medical equipment to our front line workers. Many of them died.
They failed to put in place a national plan when it come to testing and tracing. Many people died.
The Biden campaign should ask the American people, Can you trust Trump and his administration to put in a place a national plan to manufacture and distribute a future vaccine to the people when it is found? BOOM!

(7,947 posts)The lockdown is not meant to be a permanent state of affairs; its intended to be a giant pause button that buys you time to get ready for the next phase, Jeremy Konyndyk, of the Center for Global Development think tank, says.
But the Trump administration wasted the pause. Over the past two months, the US should have built the testing, contact tracing, and quarantine infrastructure necessary to safely end lockdown and transition back to normalcy as many of its peer countries did. Instead, Trump has substituted showmanship for action, playing the president on TV but refusing to do the actual job. He has both dominated the airwaves and abdicated his duties. As a result, Americas progress against the coronavirus has stalled, even as the lockdown has driven the economy into crisis."
60 days into the coronavirus crisis, the White House does not have a plan, a framework, a philosophy, or a goal.

(18,402 posts)Comparing the preparations and actions he and Obama put into place vs. the complete lack of planning and mobilization this admin has exhibited. Hes been dealing with both the medical and economic sides of this pandemic and contrasting prior successes with current disasters of management. Also already presenting plans for future.
Its there. I guess nobodys listening.

(4,308 posts)"In times of national emergencies, Mr. Trump, the President of the United States actually IS a shipping clerk, in addition to his other duties." I will never forget Barack Obama and Chris Christie hugging each other, the morning after that horrendous night of terrible storms, after they had both reportedly stayed up all night on the phone, helping to find needs and fill them as soon as possible, working with all available personnel and sometimes with each other. It boggles my mind to think about who would actually have been a better President than Trump.

(2,066 posts)Make no mistake. This is a GOTV election like no other in history. We cannot convert many people. The cult is entrenched and they will vote for Trump if they were dying of COVID on Election Day.
We must analyze voters. We must ID potential Democratic voters like never before. Then we must get them to the polls. The GOP is incredibly good at this. I wish the Florida Democratic Party was as good but so far it has shown itself to be woefully inadequate. Obama won because of his machine, not the FlaDems. Maybe thisll be the year it proves me wrong.
