"That's what Limbaugh said" should be a regular response from Democrats

When Democrats and progressives get into debates or interviews, "That's what Limbaugh said" or "You sound like Limbaugh" should be standard responses to Republican lies, myths, and distortions.

That's like saying "You're lying", or "He's lying to you" without getting into a liar, liar debate, which doesn't change anyone's mind and wastes time. If there's going to be a pointless debate based on two different sets of 'facts' the Republican might as well have Limbaugh sitting on his lap. Or on his shoulders.

If the discussion continues, the Republican may suddenly have to rethink the talking points for fear of making the Limbaugh connection again. The Republican base, which knows Limbaugh and the talking points, will be thinking, "The Democrat is telling the truth, Rush did say that. What's wrong with it?". And if the Republican doesn't defend Limbaugh, that will be a problem with their base. If he disses Limbaugh, Rush might mention his name a few times.

Excellent idea IMO--a winning formula if you ask me. Now for us to pass the message on to the Democratic big shots.

I just heard Limbaugh (about ten minutes ago) saying that Obama promised us that Al Queda was gone now and that there would be no more terrorism--because he killed bin Laden.

Obama never said that. Limbaugh just makes up the lies as he goes along.

You know, if I was one of his "fans" I would be insulted that this guy believes that I am so gullible. What does that say about those listeners, if they lap up these totally ridiculous lies like that? Anyone with a functioning brain knows that Obama didn't say those things. But those lemming listeners will hang on every word--because they're just that ignorant.

Frightening.

That claimed that Hurricane Isaac forecasts were manipulated by the government. The man lives in Florida, and anyone that lives in Florida knows that is utter horse shit. When a hurricane enters the Gulf, it can end up going ANYWHERE.

I agree with you though - I'd be insulted if someone thought I was dumb enough to believe the things he says.

He insults their intelligence daily, and they should be pissed as hell, but since they can't admit they have been duped they just keep going with it.

The funny thing is, I think Romney and Ryan are getting many of their lies from Limbaugh, which would explain why they don't realize they are lying and have been caught repeatedly. Mitt's too busy watching Snooki to realize what a fool he is making himself to be.

"Sounds like Limbaugh numbers, do you think you might get back to me with REAL numbers after you do a little research?"
Or....
"WOW, Limbaugh, (Fox) expects his, (their viewers) to be THAT stupid?" "So what data has your research come up with and where did you find it?"

Most are unabashed about getting their information from Rushbo (or Faux) since he/faux report only the truth. When he does get caught their standard response is he's on for 3-4 hrs a day and everyone makes a mistake once in a while.
Better to bang head against wall, at least you'll feel better when you stop.
