Arrest warrants issued for 2 NFL players accused of armed robbery in Florida

The police department in Miramar, Florida, issued arrest warrants for two NFL cornerbacks accused of an armed robbery that allegedly occurred on Wednesday.

DeAndre Baker, of the New York Giants, and Quinton Dunbar, of the Seattle Seahawks, are wanted on four counts each of armed robbery with a firearm, according to the Miramar Police Department Thursday. Baker is additionally wanted on four counts of aggravated assault.

The two men were at a party in Miramar on Wednesday evening when Baker allegedly instructed two men to “take money and valuables” from other people at the party, according to a warrant issued Thursday. Dunbar was allegedly assisting Baker, based on statements from four victims and a witness to police. The names of the victims were redacted in the warrant.

Baker was allegedly involved in an argument at a card table along with someone identified as "Shy," the warrant said. The two allegedly brandished their guns in one of the victims face after flipping the card table over.

to steal cash and watches? "The two men allegedly took $4,000 in cash and a $17,500 Audemars Pigeut watch from at least one of the party attendees, according to the warrant. Another person said they were robbed of $7,000 and a $25,000 Hubolt watch." (I'm such a peasant that I've never heard of Audemars Pigeut or Hubolt watches - Bulova is high-end for me.) The average NFL salary is $2.7 million and these knuckleheads stole a total of $11K and a couple of watches that you probably couldn't even fence. Maybe it's true what they say about football and head injuries.

I have a whole bunch of cheap, colorful watches that I wear as costume jewelry. I have one nice Bulova watch and the rest are $25 dime-store watches that keep time just as well as the more expensive one. I can't imagine paying thousands for a watch (even if I could) because I'd lose it or break it anyhow. Or maybe a couple of overpaid football players would steal it from me.

It’s a game. It’s enjoyment. It’s entertainment.

If it ain’t, you’re doing it wrong.

You had a card game go wrong and one guy thought he got screwed/set-up and decided to take back what he lost regardless of who it came from.

"Warrants issued for armed robbery with a firearm" Mandatory minimums, they fucked if convicted. 10 years and up.

"They lost $70,000 at a high stakes card game a few days earlier"

Just getting their money back?

More likely is that someone put down a marker to cover a bet ("argument at a card table&quot and wouldn't/couldn't pay up when they lost.

but they've gone off with possessions just like a robbery. And the police are involved, so this isn't just a hoax (or if it is a hoax, they'll face charges for wasting police time; they haven't been able to be contacted, which means they know about it, so they'd been in on a hoax).

I can't see how they can ever play again in the NFL. They've buggered up their careers, in quite a deliberate way. One had only been playing for a year; relatively, he won't have made that much money yet.

customers was professional football player and he made a lot of money. But he was getting bled dry by a ton of hanger oners. He was a good guy and I really liked him but he had no money sense and his friends took everything he had. He was always getting his house out of foreclosure.
