Very interesting read..............Not one staffer remembers any problems with Biden, was known for being a gentleman and not on the "creepy" list senate women staffers kept. Say Reade was fired for poor performance according to work colleagues. She was useless at her job. She was admonished for dressing inappropriately.

The NewsHour spoke with more than 20 people who worked for Biden when Reade was also a staffer. Some remembered her, many did not.
Ben Savage, who said his desk was next to Reades in the Biden mailroom, disputed her charge that she was forced out of her job in retaliation for a sexual harassment complaint she claims to have filed.
Savage, who worked as the offices systems administrator, overseeing computers and information processing, told the NewsHour that Reade was fired for her poor performance on the job, which he witnessed not as retaliation for her complaints about sexual harassment.
But according to Savage, Reade had been mishandling a key part of her job and an essential office task processing constituent mail, something they worked on together. Savage said he recalls reporting these issues to his boss, deputy chief of staff Dennis Toner. After that, Savage said he began diminishing Reades duties, taking over some of her tasks and rerouting parts of the process to exclude her.
I dont think anyone would describe these situations as normal. They are troublesome, to say the least.
Of all the people who held that position, shes the only one during my time there who couldnt necessarily keep up or who found it frustrating, said Savage, who worked in the office for three years, from 1993 to 1996.

(58,785 posts)over the years, evolving from this story to that one, to another, but often involving victimizations by various people, male and female, would find this not just credible but pretty much as expected. A lot of people who "have problems" become problems for others who intersect with them.

(5,969 posts)Processing mail was too hard for her.
It's also telling that just like Trump, she now lets her Trump donor lawyer answer the questions for her.

(25,111 posts)like "white on rice", today, if there was a complaint and/or paperwork filed against VP Biden or his office for 1993 or any time while he was a senator. Senate archives has nada, zip, nothing.

(35,348 posts)fired or did she quit and move with her boyfriend? I have heard several contradicting
accounts of it from Tara Reade herself. Was her accusations taken almost word for word from her father's
novel? Did he even write a book? I heard she made the same accusations against her boy friend as she did
Biden. I read she had made similar complaints about several others over the years.
It's like everything else political I don't know what to believe.

(5,557 posts)my take is this
She was not doing well with her job and knew her days were numbered. Rather than tell others she was fired for performance, she made up a story that framed her as a victim. She used this story to explain her firing when talking to friends and family. Coworkers didn't hear the story as they would know the truth. This perfectly explains the split in who heard her tale and who didn't.
Now she is dusting off her old cover story either out of some unknown vendetta or simply for profit (as the GoFundMe for Mrs. Ford was very well publicized).
The problem with an unverifiable story is that it also cannot be disproven. It makes sexual assault allegations a potent political weapon, and also a safe way to attempt to profit from the sympathy of others. The real victim here isn't Tara Reade, or even Joe Biden; it is all of the women everywhere whose legitimate experiences will be viewed skeptically in the fallout.

(70 posts)Of course, nothing is impossible. I'm guessing that other news organizations are also either investigating or sitting on information because they want to be extra cautious about how "fact finding" for allegations like this could be perceived. The thing is, the stories (I will say stories because Tara herself refers to them like this) that she has told involve a lot of people. I figured that someone would have remembered her time there. It's funny, I had actually found the original 2019 story-about the "drinks"-believable while finding the 2020 account unlikely, but now I'm doubting it since many have raised reasons why the serving drinks story may not have been likely. I can understand why the AP would have talked to her in 2019 but opted not to publish that account, since the traditional channels of journalism does entail vetting.

(145,321 posts)is lying about all of it, in my opinion.
I have been beginning to believe that she made up the whole story to save face of having to tell people she got fired. I think she was struggling at her job and then the check fraud charge in CA, probably while the Senate was in recess earlier that year, got back to the office and they decided she wasn't worth the trouble.
Then last year some other women make a political hit on Biden by saying he made them uncomfortable. He touched their shoulder or leaned in just too close, or touched their nose. Does anybody actually care about this? Anyway, she took that opportunity to bring this 25 year old lie up and toss it out there looking for attention, people to read her blog posts, and social media followers. Then when that didn't get traction despite her spending the year tweeting her articles at everyone she could, she upped the nate with this charge. Then people did pay attention and started asking questions, which is when the whole story started to fall apart.
