'Manipulative, deceitful, user': Tara Reade left a trail of aggrieved acquaintances

Reade had spoken highly of Biden, the former boss who employed her as a staff assistant from late 1992 to August 1993, and never made a mention of assault or harassment, Wrye recalls. But what Wrye remembers most is that by the time Reade left their property and moved on, Wrye felt burned.

After her husband suffered a brain injury that forced the couple to sell the property, Wrye said, Reade turned on them.

“She became really difficult,” Wrye said. “She said, ‘you’re going to have to pay me to get me to leave.’”

“She was manipulative,” said Wrye, a self-described feminist and social activist. “She was always saying she was going to get it together, but she couldn’t. And ‘could you help her’?”

Wrye’s distressing experience with Reade wasn’t an isolated case. Over the past decade, Reade has left a trail of aggrieved acquaintances in California’s Central Coast region, who say they remember two things about her — she spoke favorably about her time working for Biden, and she left them feeling duped.

Only a very, very small percentage of these types of allegations are false, but those who lodge the false allegations most often fall into a certain personality type. We've all run into people whose manipulations betray our instincts to try and help them out. Of course, people can be manipulative and have financial problems and still have awful things happen to them like rape, but it's so striking that this article STILL only covers a percentage of what I've read about her online. I personally would like to know more about her supposedly suing for being discriminated against "because she is white". I really think that she needs help. It's also striking that some of these landlords remember her bringing up working for Joe Biden in an effort to try and build a case of credibility for herself, and that they were surprised to learn now that she only worked there for 9 months as a JR staffer instead of for years as she had implied. I'm still not sure how she qualified to be an expert witness in domestic violence court cases.

5. The fundraiser claim sounds shaky. Reade has said she was told to serve drinks at a fundraiser in Washington. However, several former staffers recalled Biden avoided events in Washington and rushed to catch a train back to Delaware every night (a fact about Biden that is widely known). Others recalled an office policy forbidding his Senate staff from doing campaign work.
And two male staffers said Biden specifically did not want young staffers to be seen doing menial tasks such as serving drinks. “He didn’t want an image of a young woman staffer serving him,” one said.

None of these sources could conclusively state that Reade was never assigned to serve drinks at a Washington fundraiser. But that claim is deeply at odds with the general practices they observed.

6. One colleague recalls she was fired for cause. The most explosive detail in NewsHour’s report comes from Ben Savage, a former co-worker who sat next to Reade in the mailroom:
Savage, who worked as the office’s systems administrator, overseeing computers and information processing, told the NewsHour that Reade was fired for her poor performance on the job, which he witnessed — not as retaliation for her complaints about sexual harassment.
But according to Savage, Reade had been mishandling a key part of her job and an essential office task —
processing constituent mail, something they worked on together. Savage said he recalls reporting these issues to his boss, deputy chief of staff Dennis Toner. After that, Savage said he began diminishing Reade’s duties, taking over some of her tasks and rerouting parts of the process to exclude her.

Now that is damning.

Reade is what we can a grifter. And this is one of her grifts, and not a new one. It seems like she has accused every man involved in her life of abusing her.

Did you guys see today that one of the people who knows her said she was trying to plant a story with her about Biden last year? Basically trying to manipulate her into believing she had told her about this long before, when she hadn't and instead and spent years bragging about working in Bidens office.

She said she was an actress when she was young, but she has no credits on IMDB and can't name a single show or movie she was in, even as an extra.

She says she's a writer and poet, but I can find nothing she's written except one article on Medium.

She has a JD, and even says her name is "Dr. Tara Reade, JD" but isn't a practicing attorney or law professor.

But she really loves Putin.
