FLIPPABLE: Christian Andrews for IA-HD95

I'm a public works employee, a husband, a father of two and a community volunteer. I'm seeking election as State Representative in House District 95 to be a voice for local workers, for parents, for small business owners and for everyday Iowans.

I’m running for office because I believe people in my district have been overlooked. For the past year and a half, the Iowa legislature has underfunded education, blocked minimum wage increases, reduced workers’ benefits and taken collective bargaining rights away from the public employees who serve us all.

If we can’t give hard-working families the opportunities, the benefits, the education and the quality of life they deserve, they’re going to leave Iowa. I will fight to do the right thing by our teachers, by our public servants and by our kids. I will fight to make sure families stay right here and are proud to call Iowa home.

I’ve always enjoyed helping people and that’s why I do the work that I do. I can speak for regular Iowans because that’s who I am. I’ve been a truck driver, a carpenter, a small business owner, an activist and a stay-at-home dad. I've always had the ability to talk to anyone, whether you're a CEO or steelworker.

I wasn’t born in Iowa, but my parents chose to move here when I was in high school. My family has lived in Mount Vernon for nearly five years. I work for the city of Mount Vernon and I love my job because I get to help out in my community. Whether I’m changing the trash, digging a grave, or plowing snow, I do my job with the reverence due all taxpayers and citizens. I believe in giving back to the community and volunteer as often as I can for various projects. I've been a parks and rec baseball coach, I'm a member of the Mount Vernon Lions Club, and I proudly serve on the Lisbon-Mount Vernon Ambulance Service.
