A little emotion, please. We are facing the worst economic and health crisis in generations.

You know the GOP would be all over everything if the Dems were in charge right now.

I am so tired of the idea, "we (Dems) are not like the vindictive GOP. We're 'adults'. We don't rant and rave about any little thing."

Yeah, and I don't even hear any ranting and raving about the really big stuff, either.

Not for as long as I fucking live.

I should be up in St. Paul right now getting ready for my commencement from law school tomorrow but fuck face and his groupies had to fuck up the response to the pandemic to the point where that was not possible. Maybe if that orange fuck had done his fucking job while we might have been affected by the virus we wouldn't have almost 90,000 Americans dead from COVID-19 and maybe we would have been at the point where it would have been safe to go to commencement.

Anyone who thinks we need to reach across the aisle and reach out to the other side, from Biden on down seriously needs to check the temperature in hell first.

I don’t watch much tv news and it’s usually CNN. I have been catching Morning Joe and flipping over to Fox. I can’t think of the last Repub anything I’ve seen other than Trump. Ok Sen. Paul was on Fox to take some sort of victory lap after the hearing with Fauci.

CNN - I turned it on at 5 and Wolf Erin and Anderson pretty much repeat the same things. David Gergen and Gloria Berger are my favorites and my GOD Dr. Gupta get some rest.

MSNBC has a lot more on the food and hunger element than anyone else. Brian Williams immediate reaps of a Trump appearance are a hoot.

Fox right now is a Flynn victory lap, Biden - Reade, and Obamagate. It’s a whole other world.

I didn’t know he was a Dem I just assumed because he was on Fox he was one of theirs. Should have known since the Repubs have basically disappeared from the TV.

In the very calm discussion he was having with the pretty lady she mentioned how great Trump’s tax cut was for the economy. He said “yeah for Wall Street but I haven’t seen it have much of an effect in my district”. I thought- who is this guy? It wasn’t really a gotcha moment but the host clearly was ready to hear that.

I was a kid going hungry due to unjustly low wages to my hardworking mother. Supper was frequently one box of Kraft dinner, shared by five people - after we dug down under the couch cushions to find enough for a 20 cent box at the store. Milk, lettuce, and a tomato slice apiece were carefully rationed out so our food would last all week. To this day, I never run out of milk at a meal. I subconsciously ration it out to myself.

Do you know what underfed kids do when they feel hungry? They try to find candy. It gives immediate pain relief for hunger pangs. And yes, hunger does cause pain, first in the stomach but then in the head, arms, and legs. It is not a warm, sleepy feeling. It is a cold, achy feeling, eventually with shooting pains in the extremities.

Back in Chicago in the 1950s, my little brother and I spent our afterschool time scouring local alleys for enough money to buy a candy bar, maybe with a small coke and a twinkie (after all, we reasoned, twinkies have flour and egg, right?).

I have a message for these children: Hang in there, kids! Don't give up! Oh, and try hard to learn as much math as you can! That bossy math teacher is actually one of your best friends!

It’s an entirely different story, however, when it comes to the majority of Americans, the ones who actually keep our country running, Republicans don’t care at all if if these same Americans have a roof over their heads or food to feed their families. They are monsters!

Forget the republican-lite sounding appeals to the "suburban voter". Forget the poll tested, party sponsor approved, soft pedal of the "issues". We have no more time for gradual and polite rhetorical arguments.

We need plainspoken facts in real time while there is still a country left to save! We need to tell it like it is as Tim did! The simple truth will do just fine when spoken with emphasis on the assholes who are ducking it.

It was good enough for FDR, Harry Truman, John Kennedy, and for Barack Obama.

of this. There is really no reason why any working class or poor people should be ruined by being shut down as long as it takes.

What's really happening to a small business when it's shut down? The building and equipment are just sitting there, maybe a little maintenance required. The employees are cooling it at home ready to go back to work. What's hurting is everyone up the food chain demanding their money. Screw them! We should start the shutdown at the top. Shut down Wall Street and everything financial except personal bank accounts, then give everyone food cards.

Go with a no one gets paid strategy, except essential workers. If all the rest of us don't have any bills we have to pay and have food, we're fine. So the 1% sees their wealth stop piling up and have to give back a chunk. When it's over, they will still be the richest people. That would be incentive for them to put competent people in charge.
