CDC officials are complaining about Dr. Birx's failure to push back on Trump's lies: report

Published 10 mins ago on May 16, 2020
By Matthew Chapman

On CNN Saturday, correspondent Kristen Holmes revealed that officials at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta are frustrated with coronavirus task force official Dr. Deborah Birx, because of her unwillingness to correct false claims made by President Donald Trump.

“Nick Valencia reporting with me, talking to CDC officials in Atlanta, who said they’ve been disappointed with Dr. Birx and her lack of really pushing back on some of the comments that President Trump has made that we know are untrue,” said Holmes.

Unlike NIH official Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has more directly contradicted the president, Birx has more frequently tried to fit her medical recommendations into what Trump has already said. She has also consistently praised the president’s leadership in forums about medical guidance, which has caused some commentators to question her credibility.

2. Her HIV work is also suspect

She was associated with a group that wanted to address the innocent victims of HIV.

The group also pushed for criminalization and arrest of male homosexuals.

The "innocent victims of HIV" rhetoric is astonishingly offensive, and this conservative Republican doctor has been given a pass by the major media for some reason.

7. Maybe Trump threatened her in their private meetings or promised her the VP slot

Not a direct threat, he's too much of a coward for that. But he may have mentioned the doctors falling out of windows in Russia to Dr. Birx. He also may have promised her the VP slot or other position she really wants. I can't stand this orange turd, but I amazed at how easily he corrupts people. What does he say to get them to say "fuck it I'm going to the dark side"

9. Is this the same CDC that took it's reports that stated what had to be done

and changed everything to "suggested", "if possible", "if feasible".... I'm surprised they didn't include "if you ARE NOT having a bad hair day"... They pretty much took the teeth out of the guidelines. Nothing HAD to be done. No ramifications if they WEREN'T done.

Total gutting of the guidelines.

At least that is what Rachel said, and I WILL BELIEVE RACHEL OVER ANYONE IN THE CDC ADMINISTRATION.

covering for Trump is all that she will be known for. The fact that she fell into this role says a lot about her character. History will not treat her kindly.
