We get them in February and they are good through the end of the year. I wait until I have a really big shop and then I use it. I think this year all I got back in change was $1.86 - the rest went to my pantry

(115,836 posts)They can whine about Freedumb all they want, but a private business can set rules about how their customers behave, and they can encourage non-compliers to shop elsewhere if they don't want to follow those rules. It makes no sense to treat simple public health measures as political statements. Wearing a mask is for the benefit of public health. So is washing one's hands after using the bathroom (and it's mandatory for employees). Wearing pants is also for the benefit of public health, among other things, so people don't distribute their pubes and other bodily detritus all over the place. Using kleenex or a handkerchief instead of blowing your nose on your hand is a public health measure.
So, MAGAt anti-maskers, do you wash your hands after taking a dump? Do you wear pants? Do you blow your nose on tissues instead of your hands? If your answers to these questions are all Yes, what the fuck is wrong with wearing a mask? You don't want to get shit or snot or pubes on other people but you're ok with getting viruses all over them that can kill them? What's wrong with you people?

You thought that was just an extreme hypothetical example, didn't you?
Senator says restaurant employees shouldnt be required to wash their hands
Once were done debating whether children should be vaccinated, we can move on to other pressing public health questions, such as whether eateries can force their employees to wash their hands after they use the bathroom.
At least one freshman U.S. senator thinks, nah. Because freedom.
Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), at the end of an appearance Monday at the Bipartisan Policy Center, volunteered a story about his bias when it comes to regulatory reform....

Here's how China reacted to their people not wearing masks.
Article from Feb. 14th:
https://www.vice.com/amp/en_us/article/3a8pv5/shocking-videos-show-chinese-authorities-humiliating-people-for-not-wearing-masks
Chinese authorities have been tying up citizens who go out in public without a mask, parading them through the streets and forcing them to hold up signs apologizing for their mistakes.

(2,203 posts)Their operation has been pretty good since our state went into lockdown. One entrance way, controlled, carts wiped down, directional arrows on the floors, plexiglass screens between customers and check out personnel, employees all wearing masks and gloves. They set that operation up overnight back in late March. We are now in Phase 1 of reopening so restrictions are getting a little easier. Sam's Club across the street was more like Walmart and the WILD WILD WEST, spooky place to shop that we avoided as much as possible along with the local Walmarts...

(5,339 posts)while down an aisle wearing my mask some dude and his teenaged son, both without, walked right within two feet of my face.
Me: "Hey, man. Keep your distance."
He: "What? This is the aisle. Where am I supposed to go?"
Me: "Figure that out for yourself, just stay away from ME."
I'd say that a good one third of customers inside Lowe's did not have masks.

(2,406 posts)"Clearly, Costco Wholesale (NASDAQ:COST) has experienced a sales spike due to the coronavirus pandemic that will continue for weeks, maybe months, and produce very strong earnings while many other companies suffer. The company has acknowledged the strong sales, and has taken measures to make sure it can safely serve as many of its members as possible.
That's the short-term story for the brand. It's good news in a nation facing overwhelmingly bad news -- a bright spot for investors in a sea of declining stocks. In the long run, however, the warehouse club may experience lasting benefits from its response to the coronavirus pandemic.
It's worth noting that Costco has a roughly 90% member retention rate. That's fairly astounding, since the chain offers but does not require auto-renewal. That means many of its members find enough value to choose to renew year after year rather than being passively renewed automatically."

(19,204 posts)No, asshole, you're a sacrificial lamb at the altar of Donald Trump. Being born, or waking up in a free country, doesn't mean you get to do anything you like. It means making some personal sacrifices so that others can wake up in that same "free country". Poor little snowflake. His rights were viciously violated.

POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT! Because I don't want to shop where there are selfish inconsiderate people who don't care whether they might be spreading a KILLER DISEASE to others. I care about my own health too much to accommodate fucking idiot know-nothings.
